BBQ Pork Sandwiches Prep- 20 mins Cook-low 11 hrs/ high 5 1/2 hrs plus add 15 mins on high CP-3 1/2 to 5 qt'er 2 large green peppers, cut into strips(2 1/2 cups) 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and seperated into rings( 1 cup) 2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca 1 2 1/2 to 3 lb-pork shoulder roast 1 cup barbeque sauce(use your john boy and billy) 3 to 4 teaspoons chili powder 10 to 12 kaiser rolls, split and lightly toasted(or your fav buns) Coleslaw(homemade recipe or store bought), drained. Step 1-In CP combine green pepper strips and onion rings. Sprinkle tapioca over vegs. Trim fat from roast. If necessary, cut roast to fit into CP. Place meat over vegs. Step 2- In a medium bowl combine BBQ sauce and chili powder. Pour the sauce over the meat. Step 3- Cover; cook on desired temp and time. Remove roast from CP; thinly slice or pull/shred the meat. Skim fat from sauce. Return sauce and meat to CP; cover. Turn CP on High and cook 15-30 min to heat through. Step 4- Serve on your choice of bun/roll, topped with drained coleslaw. Bier Meister Posted February 8, 2007 Share Posted February 8, 2007 this looks tasty pd. we may be getting a crock...... next year i might do them all during the football season. i'll be critiquing so bring your A game. suggestions: - know your recipes (try them before posting); know the ingredients and what works best - think about what the crock pot does and if it is the best cooking method for the recipes.
