HowboutthemCowboys
from NFL.com ' London will be the venue for the first regular-season NFL game to be played outside North America, the National Football League announced. The NFL will stage the first in its new series of international regular-season games in the United Kingdom's capital city in the fall of 2007. NFL owners voted in October to play up to two games outside the United States every year for the next five years, with the series kicking off with a single game in 2007. ' Does anyone besides me think this is retarded? What does the NFL gain by playing regular season games in Europe or anywhere outside the U.S? Money? I don't get it. And if I'm a season ticket holder for the home team in this game I'm REALLY pissed because that's 1 less home game for my team....not to mention my team has to fly back and prepare for a game the following week. Anyone think this is a good idea???
PantherDave
Well it should be Week 17 and two teams who are out of it-if possible.
Big John
Well it should be Week 17 and two teams who are out of it-if possible. It was announced it would be a Dolphins home game in London, opponent TBA
Pope Flick
They really want a bigger fan base, because it's not like you're going to unseat rugby or soccer as team sports over there to bring more players over.....
PantherDave
It was announced it would be a Dolphins home game in London, opponent TBA All I know is, the year the Bucs went to Japan-actually after they won the SB, it took their legs away from them it seemed. Granted, London is not as far as Japan, but still it's some jet lag and a timer change. However, in saying this, if both teams involved had their bye weeks after the game then it might not be as bad. Todd1
Send two teams that no one cares about and that can't fill their stadiums. Like the Bears , Lions or Vikings.
ebartender
I totally disagree with playing regular season games overseas. It takes 1 home game away from the team and the fans. Hopefully they work it around bye weeks so neither team has to play the next week.
Ursa Majoris
I posted this weeks ago. The away team will likely be the Giants.

Anyone think this is a good idea??? Not good, they take away a home game, but I'm sure they will still require season ticket holders to buy 2 meaningless preseason games at full price. How many fans might just say 'does paying (insert price here) for season tickets make sense if 2 of the 9 are usesless and almost impossible to resell'? BiggieFries
It was announced it would be a Dolphins home game in London, opponent TBA It better not be the Cowboys game! I plan on going to that one! This is a stupid idea. I agree w/ everyone that it would take a home game away from season ticket holders. Would the NFL or the team compensate the season ticket holder in anyway for that lost game?
T_bone65
I posted this weeks ago. The away team will likely be the Giants. I was going to say I saw this on TV a couple of weeks ago and it is Miami-Giants in London
T-Scorp
Supposedly they are going to rotate the schedule so that every NFL team will be the home team over the next 32 years!!!

kraftykraft
This is ridiculous. At least they picked East Coast teams for the game. It would suck pretty badly to have to fly from the West Coast to London and then play a game.

Thews40
Er… I think it’s awesome. In fact, they should add two teams from Europe to the NFL. Much like MLB has teams in Canada, two more teams would mean more fantasy football RB’s to choose from. Then again, since RBBC is the new standard we should have plenty . Think of the great scrums in bleachers when the Oakland Raiders played the London Lugnuts ... tell me you wouldn’t watch that game.
'canes2004
I'm a Dolphins season ticket holder and a rep for the Dolphins said that we would only be paying for 7 games next year. Of course our tickets have gone up each season so it probably be about what it was last year. As far as affecting the players, I just hope Ricky doesn't try to bring Josh Gordon into the UK.
