And BTW.. I knew when the whiny Dan Marino picked the Patriots, they were screwed.. He never elevated his team to greatness and IMHO was never great. Even when the Pats sucKKed they never feared him.. he choked EVERY time! And if you say he didn't, where are his rings?

You lost. Man up and deal with it. :D

This is a tiresome and completely inaccurate argument, usually made by fans who were too young to actually see the player they are talking about. I was a big Fins fan and watched alot of their games during those years, so I can tell you he was the heart and soul of the team.... The only reason those 80's and 90's Dolphins teams were competitive was BECAUSE of Marino. Without him at QB, they would have been a .500 team at best -- yet they consistently made the playoffs.

During the majority of his career, Miami had no running game to speak of, their defense was up and down, and they suffered through years of serious coaching blunders and bad drafts. I love Shula, but he should have retired at least 4 or 5 years before he did. He turned the team over to his coordinators during the last few seasons of his tenure and both the OC (Stevens) and DC (Olivadotti) were terrible.

There were more games that I can count that Miami had no business winning, but they did because Marino carried them.

Right on target here. By the way in Marino's career he was 18-15 against the Pats. That is including two playoff losses. Certainly nothing to brag about if you are a Pats fan. But then again, those are just the facts.

+1

Unfortunately history is making "Marino" into a bad tag to have associated with your name. The guy was an awesome QB, and only a person who is 1) fishing or 2) ignorant would associate "Rings" to greatness (Fouts, A. Manning, Tarkington are among the ringless). And based off the rest of his post, I say it's more ignorance than fishing.

The bumb did only make the Pro-Bowl 52.9% of the 17 seasons he played, including being the first ever rookie QB to start a Pro-Bowl. We should all be shocked that he was a first ballot HOFer. :D

No, it's DAN'S fault that the vast majority of his offenses struggled to run the ball effectively. It's DAN'S fault that he only played with a handfull of solid defenses throughout his career. Come on, man, get with the program! :D

Well he did have the 13th ranked yardage gaining rushing game in 2 of his 17 seasons. He also had a respectable D at least 3 years out of the 17 he played. So I supposed it is mainly his fault. He was the one that was there for 17 years.
