T-Scorp
The Viking finally get a great young coach and he's gone after one year! Why didn't someone take Tice off our hands a few years ago?? I assume he will lead the Steelers to the Superbowl in a couple of years!
Randall
http://www.startribune.com/510/story/950834.html I wish he could have stayed...congrats to him. Looks like it. Were they taking the cheaper of the two? The Trib Pulls Grimm Report. All Signs Point to Mike Tomlin. I just finished my quarter hourly sweep of the usual sights for any more news on the coaching situation. What I found was a lot of what we all have read. What was interesting is what I didn't find. It seems that the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review has pulled Mike Prisuta's article claiming Russ Grimm would be the new coach.

CaP'N GRuNGe
This really sucks. Maybe the Vikings will grab LeBeau now from the Steelers. Though i bet they just promote from within. I've heard Karl Dunbar's name mentioned as speculation.

Le Beau would not fit our personnel right now would he??? So how many D-Cord is that for us in the last 5 years? 4???? I absolutely love Dick Lebeau's 3-4 zone-blitzing defense. With Tomlin coming in, I assume that the 3-4 will be no more and they will move to Tomlin's 4-3, Cover 2. This is going to be interesting to see how it is played out. The Steelers have personnel on defense that are made to fit the 3-4 (Casey Hamption, Aaron Smith, Porter, Haggans), and an adjustment to a 4-3 would be interesting, and may have a negative effect on the defense until they adjust their personnel or get the hang of the new defense. Or, perhaps, the Rooney's told Tomlin that he wanted LeBeau and his 3-4 to stay in place as a condition to his hirning (doubtful). Should be interesting to see what happens with the defense. Now tomlinson woudl be a heck of a player-coash I saw a quote from Tomlin that pretty much said "I like what I like" so here comes 4-3 and cover

Heard talk on the radio today that such a switch would obviate the need to a safety with such high talent as Polamalu, especially considering his price tag. I don't like change. Don't assume change just yet. Lebeau is going nowhere according to everything that I have heard and that includes Mike Tomlin. I have always liked the 3-4 but it takes special players that fit that scheme. I don't think that we are going to see a hugh change right off the bat. So far, every single thing that I am hearing Tomlin say is keeping me happy. He did not say that the days of the 3-4 where gone but that we need constant evaluation of the players and their skills.
