J.D.Morrison
Personally, I have a warm fuzzy for Jimmy Johnson. Either its blind optimism, or maybe there is something to the rumors that JJ could be coming back to Big D. What a splash that would make.....a JJ squared reunion. Jerrah likes big splashes. Jimmah looks like he wants to coach again. (50% chance?) Other than that, I like Cowher....but it may be a year to soon for him. (25% chance) Forget college coaches....that would be the nail in the coffin. I'd probably switch team alliances if that happens. Who else? Ron Rivera? (10% chance?) ALL IN ALL - IF THEY HIRE A PLAYERS COACH.....ITS ALL OVER....TO WILL DESTROY YET ANOTHER FRANCHISE.....listen to him already about Parcell's retirement. No way in hell does Jimmy Johnson come back, he and Jones parted on the worst of terms and there has been no reconciliation and will never be a reconciliation. And even aside from that Jimmy enjoys his home/boat in Miami too much and has a it made with a stress-free job. So as much as Jones might like it, Jimmy will never do it. Cowher isn't coaching ANY team this year, period. Sadly it will likely be Stoops or Zimmer or Turner.
geeteebee
Norv Turner will be high on the list. With a young, promising qb, I think they go with somebody who can develop a strong rapor with Romo....Think Sean Payton wants a new job? Rockerbraves
Les Miles at 4-1, Norv Turner at 6-1 Wade Phillips at 15-1 Pete Carroll is 20-1.
irish
What about Russ Grimm or Lovie Smith after they lose the SB. I heard on the radio this morning that Lovie has one year left on his pitiful contract being paid something like a mil and a half next year. They were saying if Dallas/JJ threw 5 mil a year at him who knows? I'd love that!!!

I don't know about Lovie.....COY, SB appearance aside.....there still isn't alot of proven eperience there....not enough for Jerrah anyway....but who knows.... I think I like that better than Norv Turner....granted he was architect of a great Cowboy offense, but he hasn't shown squat since then. Menudo
Neither does pointless criticism either. If I knew you were kidding or being sarcastic, I wouldn't have criticized. However, if you were that fickle of a fan, then the criticism would have been warranted.

Would Dallas be willing to pay it, or possibly have a 1 year interim head coach? Lovie's home town is only about 2 1/2 hours from Dallas. irish
Thanks for the ruling Judge Irish. No problem, anytime. Right back at ya. This might actually not be that far fetched. There will be a price to pay probably involving a draft pick and money but you know JJ loves to make a splash and with the Cowboys probably just drafting the best player available with all their picks this year (versus targeting very specific players) he'd might be willing to sacrifice the pick as well as the $$. OK..OK...as Irish suggested, I should have used an "emoticon".....I just don't have the time to devote to analyzing everything I write on this board....I'm lucky I can write as much (little) as I can. anyways.... If we have to give up compensetory picks, $$, or a combination of both for a d*mn coach, it will hurt the team. We have serious holes to fill. Namely at Safety. Alot of pre-draft boards are forecasting us to take that Safety out of Florida....forgot his name. We are sooo close to filling all the pieces, I'd hate to see us take a step back to lure somone else out of a contract. There are other options. pseudolefty
It wouldn't surprise me to see Wade Phillips get the job. In fact, the article below says Jerry Jones is considering the idea of Phillips as head coach and Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9947899 Phillips is an expert at the 3-4 defense which Jones favors, has head coaching experience with the Broncos and Bills (and a winning record), is from Texas, and is apparently well-liked and respected by Jerry Jones. For the Chargers sake, I hope Dallas goes another direction. Many think that Phillips would have been a strong candidate for the Chargers job if Schottenheimer were fired. MonkeyOne
FWIW (little to nothing) there's a buzz on the Bucs boards about Gruden putting his name forward for the Dallas job. Not saying it's going to happen, just pooling the rumours.

JJ would be willing to give up the pick in order to get the coach he wants in there, could possibly handle Owens (can't ignore the obvious racial matchup Lovie would bring) and make headlines. I know that the writer's are projecting Dallas to take a safety in the draft be it Landry, Reggie Nelson or Griffin, however, Dallas is supposedly going to move Henry to safety and allow Roy to play closer to the LOS. Meaning we could answer our own safety issue inhouse and we'd be looking for CB, which we could get. It wouldn't surprise me to see Wade Phillips get the job. Gruden's not going anywhere with that Bucs team and Dallas is on the verge of making a run for the SB. Gruden would be sweet!!
