Kansas State 2000
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is unhappy with coach Andy Reid, fellow quarterback Jeff Garcia and the media for how they are portraying his mother, The Trenton Times reported Tuesday, citing people close to McNabb. McNabb, whose season was derailed by a torn ACL in his right knee, is upset that Reid dind't allow him to travel to New Orleans for the playoff game against the Saints. But the Eagles normally don't allow players on injured reserve to travel. McNabb also believes his teammates want Garcia to remain the starter, the Times said, after he led the team on a five-game winning streak and a wild-card victory over the New York Giants. Last week, Reid canceled a news conference by McNabb because he wanted the injured quarterback to concentrate on his rehab. More on link ... Scourge
If you know anything about the Philadelphia media, and Mark Eckel especially, you would know that there is probably no relevance to this story. Eckel likes to stir the pot here and his story in the Trenton Times is just a perverse fabrication based on nothing but speculation.
i_am_the_swammi
- citing people close to McNabb. I walked past McNabb in the airport a couple weeks ago, then mentioned that McNabb's mother should keep her trap shut to a friend of mine. I wonder, since we passed so near to each other, if I am one of the people "close" to McNabb?
The Next Generation
McNabb = immature momma's-boy? Yes McNabb = self-centered, egomaniacal, suicidal, delusional jerk-off? Nah...

Randall
He has a long way to go before he comes close to TO. When he refuses to work out and dresses up like Lance Armstrong or wears a Cowboys jersey around the team let me know.
malta69
Yeah I agree, I think its time to run McNabb out of town. Everyone knows the future of this team lies with AJ Feeley. Maybe we could do a "package" deal with Indy? Those are my favorite. McNabb and Reno Mahe for Peyton? I think they'd do that in a heartbeat!!!1111 While we are at it, we should probably get rid of Fatty Reid too. He's an awful coach. Maybe we could bring in Art Shell or Dennis Green??? TDFFFreak
Until we hear "bad" things coming out of McNabb's mouth, I believe little to none of this. This guy has done nothing but be a stand up guy in my observation. The punks of the NFL show themselves through their words: T.O. Irvin, Sanders, Shockey, Vick, etc. Edited January 23, 2007 by TDFFFreak

CarryTheRock
Even if te original post were true it still brings McNabb far from T.O.' level of idiotdom...

ebartender
They should've let him travel either way IMO. It is a rule for the entire team. Kearse hasn't traveled with the team either. Maybe it is a stupid rule, but you don't want to set a precedent for one player when you have had this rule in place for a while now. Apparently they want these guys concentrating on their rehab instead of traveling with the team. I don't think these reports are true but if they are, I just lost a lot of respect for McNabb. Why is he worried about Garcia? If McNabb doesn't think he can beat out Garcia maybe he has more to worry about then what the fans think. The Next Generation
It is a rule for the entire team. Actually it's a rule for a lot of teams, not just the Eagles. At least according to Mort.
