CaptainHook
contact is allowed within 5 yards, but you cannot intentionally block a defensive back. That was what Brown did. It prevented Watson's man from being out in the flat to cover him. A lot of times they'll let it go if the contact is minimal, but Brown ran into him and shoved him with both hands, making it a VERY easy call. Even the announcer's said so. Yeah, and the announcer agreed with the other 2 calls you referenced as well... I wouldn't use 'the announcers agreed' as a counterpoint... Anyways, again...the discussion is semantic. I didn't agree with the call (and if I could find footage would make a better case), but know that the Pats had the ball and the lead with 3:40 to go. And they gagged. whomper
If you look in the game thread I immediately called for PI here..very bad non call..He is actually holding his one arm down when he initially tries to reach up for the ball.. irish
BB is just showing off his excellent reading comprehension skills. Did somebody say reading comprehension? I working on that with my students right now.
forever in debt to mo lewis
no sour grapes here....but while were talking about calls/non calls....i know you could probably find a holding call on almost every play if you look...but i thought the colts got away with some...i saw ty warren getting mugged on several occasions(cant blame anyone..the dude has become almost unblockable one on one)....must admit...i wasnt really watching for it much when the patriots had the ball...they might have been getting away with it too
TheGrunt
The bump looked to be to be within 5 yards of the line, and the DB was impeding his route. That's not PI. Granted, I can only go on memory of the call because I can't find footage. It looked like a bad interpretation of the rule you are citing to me. The link still works for me. Caveman_Nick
The link still works for me. Pay attention, Gruntie We are alking about the PI call on Troy Brown now...your link was the non-call on Reche Caldwell
PatsFanCT
That was about as pass interference as pass interference gets. But considering it was Ricochet Caldwell, he would have dropped it anyway, so no complaints from me.
