BearcatGreg
COVINGTON -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry on Thursday was ordered by a judge to serve two days in jail after he pleaded guilty to allowing minors to drink alcohol in his hotel room last spring. "You brought shame with this on yourself," Kenton County District Judge Greg Grothaus told Henry. "You embarrassed a lot of people." Grothaus also called Henry a "cancer" twice. Grothaus sentenced Henry to 90 days in jail. He suspended all but two days, and ordered Henry to begin serving those two days immediately. Henry is one of nine Bengals players arrested in the past 13 months. He was arrested Jan. 28 in Orlando, Fla., on multiple gun charges, and on June 3 he was charged with driving under the influence in Clermont County, Ohio. He was scheduled to appear in court there Feb. 15, but Henry pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of reckless operation of a car and was given a 30-day suspended sentence. Henry originally was charged in Covington with three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor. Covington police said he brought alcohol for three teenage females -- ages 18, 16 and 15 -- in a Covington motel room on April 29. One of the women, Monica Beamon, 18, has been charged with murder in Cincinnati since then. “It’s good that this case has been resolved. Now Chris must strive to continue to mature and grow, both as a player and a person,” Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said in a news release. Bill Swerski
Too bad. Henry's a freaking beast (I think he's better than Houshmandzadeh) and it'd be a shame if he let this crap get in the way of what could be a very good NFL career. Ziachild007
One of the women, Monica Beamon, 18, has been charged with murder in Cincinnati since then. Read in a previous report that she had also been arrested for prostitution in the past year. Surely a mildy successful NFL WR can do better than that, can't they? cdrudge
How many chances does a backup WR get..... Only in Cincinnati. Well if they don't get second (and third and forth and...) Cincinnati wouldn't have a full team.
tonyr0802
How ridiculous is this, suspends all but 2 days of a 90 day sentence? Pathetic. Hope this judge doesn't really think he did anything for this kid, 90 days in the pokey may have given him some time to think. But 2 days? Pathetic. Shorttynaz
It's like his home away from home. He should be getting to know everyone in there by a first name basis now.

Bengal Mania
How many chances does a backup WR get..... Only in Cincinnati. or Dallas? Bengals have Josh Gordon and alcohol (driving) issues, but haven't graduated to the storied-cocaine issues of America's Team. Henry's a waste, Bengals need to move on Edited January 25, 2007 by Bengal Mania
HowboutthemCowboys
or Dallas? Henry's a waste, Bengals need to move on pretty sure the Bengals had more guys arrested in the month of October than any team ever has in it's history. Donutrun Jellies
pretty sure the Bengals had more guys arrested in the month of October than any team ever has in it's history. Nate Newton & Michael Irvin just had more friends in the right places ... that's the Bengals problems, they are tooo self-centered and haven't learned from the Cowboys escapades how to "cultivate" relationships ... Scorcher
Read in a previous report that she had also been arrested for prostitution in the past year. Surely a mildy successful NFL WR can do better than that, can't they? I wonder if the murder charge was for killing a cockroach in Chicago? isleseeya
I will say this marvin lewis is quite the discplinarian ...iron fisted general who runs the tightest of ships ...what a joke If the bengals wanted to run a full team practice they probably need to run the practice at prison yard
Seahawks21
Guys, he had some underage girls over drinking. Honestly, has anybody here not done that?? Two days is a lifetime for this offense. The fact that the other 88 days were suspended just means that they can use them against him later if he commits other crimes of a similar nature, which is something that happens on like 80% of all jail sentences. Donutrun Jellies
Guys, he had some underage girls over drinking. Honestly, has anybody here not done that?? Our situations might be sliiiiightly different on a couple of key details ... I can remember a bit of underage drinking with a girlfriend in a friend's station wagon when I was 16 and up on the logging road around that same time ... But NOT as a well-employed adult in my 20s in a hotel room with chicks as young as 15 dabbling in murder and prostitution ... Man, the stories he'd tell his grandchildren of his escapades if he didn't look to be destined to die in a gunfight outside a strip club over a drug sale gone bad, leaving his trail of illegitimate offspring checkless after being fatherless their whole lives ...
