He'd be interviewee Rooney Rulle #2, so there is more to it htan that. I'd hate it, because it would give me a minor fleeting feeling to see them do alright for his sake. But that'd be it. I don't see slapping Singletary in the face simply to satisfy some silly quota makes little sense. And the respect I have for what I know of watching Singletary would disappear pretty quickly if he were willing to be a token interview. I can't see that guy agreeing to an interview under that circumstance. Can anyone else? I think I win some $$ if it happens. I'd certainly be in favor of that as well. As of yesterday he was listed as the assistant HC/LB coach on at least two or three places I looked (not the 49ers site, it just says Assistant HC/defense). I would think DC is a promotion over LB coach so AHC/LB to AHC/DC should be a promotion. I guess if Assistant HC to Assistant HC means it is lateral no matter what then I guess not. Sgt. Ryan Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 SF can say we are not releasing Singletary, if they choose, since he is already an asst HC. But SF refuses to promote him to DC. Sf may be pissed if it loses Turner, and wont let Mike go, as a result. SF would rather Mike get the HC job, but that isnt happening.
