Grits and Shins
Personally I am glad that Manning was finally to get the monkey off his back and has some hardware to back up a great statistical career. I like both Dungy and Manning and think that 2 nicer guys couldn't have been on the victorious side. [EDIT] Although I do think you have to give SERIOUS props to the defense that went from dead last in the NFL in the regular season to pretty damn impressive in the post season. Without the defense stepping up in a big way in the post season the Colts would not have even made the AFC championship game let alone win the SB. WorstCoachingEver
I believe Addai and Rhodes should have been co-MVPs, but you knew that wasn't going to happen. Peyton had an ok game, but not MVP worthy. More of the lines of Larry Brown than Steve Young MVPish.

Young: 24/36 ...... 325 ...... 6 td's- 0 int's ......... 49 yds rushing. not pedestrian numbers. When no single player has an outstanding performance that cries for the MVP trophy almost always by default it is the starting QB of the winning team. Neither Rhodes not Addai had a singularly outstanding performance. Both did their part and had a nice game but stand alone neither really had an MVP performance. Now had one of them had the combined numbers of both that would be a different matter. I also think that had the same defensive player made both interceptions in the 4th quarter for IND that he would have a legitimate claim to the MVP. In truth the MVP of the game for IND was Rex Grossman. Having said all that I have no problem with Manning getting the MVP as he drives the offense as I think QBs should. WorstCoachingEver
Young: 24/36 ...... 325 ...... 6 td's- 0 int's ......... 49 yds rushing. not pedestrian numbers. Exactly, you have the two extremes of MVP performances in the Super Bowl. I gave you Larry Brown who only had 2 INTs that were thrown right to him. On the other end you had Steve Young. I was saying that Peyton's performance was more towards Larry Brown. I do agree with Grits that you have to give it to Peyton as he was the QB of the winning team since there was no dominant performance. I was just throwing it out there that Addai and Rhodes played very well in their respective roles.

heydave76
I kind of thought Rhoades should have had the mvp. However, considering the steady rain I do think Manning put up good numbers in those conditions. The team had so many players contribute in big places it really was a complete team win. I didn't think there was a clear cut MVP.

Any other player was to perform very strongly in order to be considered and they may still vote for the QB.

crispirons
i think they could have chosen between four player for the mvp. of course manning deserves consideration, but how about there offensive line, addai, and or rhodes. lets not forget rex either, he should have at least been a co-mvp for the colts.
