jjpro11
we have been hearing a bunch of sound bits from him since the super bowl victory.. but does anyone else find that guy pretty annoying? im not trying to diss the colts organization or anything like that.. but i could never stand listening to that guy for each game. when there is a big play he sounds like he is having a heart attack while in the meantime getting kicked in the nuts. charty
Of all people to comment on this, it's a Steelers fan. Two words for you....Myron Cope. Most radio guys are very homer, some are more over the top than others. But yeah, the Indy guy is pretty annoying. I remember the direct snap to the RB the Colts tried a couple years ago in New England, and the guy was almost in tears when the Colts were flagged for illegal procedure. He was like "the colts have been practicing this all week in practice, this is ridiculous", or something to that effect.

Bill Swerski
I suppose you're talking about Bob Lamey, the radio play-by-play guy. I like Lamey. His voice takes a little getting used to, but I think that he does a pretty good job. And, yes, he's a HUGE homer - a lot like White Sox announcer Hawk Harrelson. On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of Ted Marchibroda (the color commentator). I'm sure he's forgotten more football than I'll ever know, but he sounds like a complete dope on the radio. His comments aren't very insightful, about half of which seem to consist of grunts and groans.

CaptainHook
Everybody loves their team's homer play-by-play guy. When you hear another team's guy, you think he's awful. It's just the way it works. I love Lamey. Marchibroda, as a color analyst, stinks.
heydave76
I've always loved Lamey. They Colts radio call switched stations for a few years and they went with a different play by play man. I hated it. I loved it when Lamey returned. I want a home announcer to sound like he lives and dies with each play along with the fans. rajncajn
Jim Henderson for the Saints is hands down the best team announcer there is. Who else can make so many years of losing sound so great?
jjpro11
Jim Henderson for the Saints is hands down the best team announcer there is. Who else can make so many years of losing sound so great? i thought that 49ers guy was one of the best. im not sure if he still does 49ers games.. but hearing him call that montana to taylor td in the super bowl vs cincy was pretty cool. i dont know why, he just sounds like he has a voice perfect for football. very passionate and very on cue.
