CarryTheRock
LINK Angelique SoenarieThe Arizona Republic Feb. 14, 2007 02:25 PM It's beyond the wildest dreams of even some of the most macho fans of Super Bowl Sunday: young, athletic women playing full-on tackle football - in lingerie. Perhaps this is the ultimate in fantasy football. Fans unable to score a seat at next year's Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, might have a chance to get into Lingerie Bowl V. The sexy gridiron romp on Feb. 3 also will feature the return to the Northeast Valley of Scottsdale strip-club owner and former Paradise Valley resident Jenna Jameson. The famed porn-star will help host the Lingerie Bowl along with NFL greats such as former Chicago Bears defensive lineman William "Refrigerator" Perry. For the first time, the scantily clad, but padded, Lingerie Bowl contestants will play in the Super Bowl's host community. "We've produced it four years now in Los Angeles," said Christopher Martin, spokesman of Horizon Productions Inc. The Hollywood-based entertainment company has annually held the Super Bowl half-time event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. "This is our fifth season, and moving forward we'll be in Super Bowl's host city every year. This is our first year for us (here in the Valley), so we want to make it big," Martin said. The edgy game has sold out the Coliseum and drawn an estimated 58 million viewers on TV. Details of where the Lingerie Bowl will be held will be announced next week, Martin said. Pre-game events for the Lingerie Bowl, also known as the Ultimate Cat Fight, are planned in downtown Scottsdale, including a Lingerie Bowl Experience Village, Lingerie Bowl fantasy football draft and the first Lingerie Bowl party. The Lingerie Football League consists of a western and eastern conference, each with two 13-member teams: Los Angeles Temptations, Dallas Desire, New York Euphoria and Chicago Bliss. By 2009, expansion teams are planned in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Miami. These ladies aren't wimps. They actually train with former NFL players. "If you're not going to the Super Bowl this is going to be your second best bet," Martin said. "It is basically a mini-Super Bowl, if you will." The Misfit
The edgy game has sold out the Coliseum and drawn an estimated 58 million viewers on TV. From the clip, it looks like the Coliseum had about 90,000 no-shows.
