JaysGoingDown
Dominic Rhodes with the Giants? Any ideas?
Bronco Billy
I think the Giants would be better off spending their money elsewhere, especially since they have lost 2 LBs and 2 OTs in the past week and their D was a sieve last season. Muggsy
I think the Giants would have to offer significantly more money than the Colts for Rhodes to make this jump. With Jacobs already on board (and familiar with the system) with the Giants, Rhodes would be making a lateral movement in terms of playing time so why join a lesser team for the same amount of money and playing time? edit to add: the Giants may have a tough time luring free agents in gerneral based on Tiki's comments and the general consensus that a new coach(meaning an unknown new system) will be in place by this time next year Edited February 16, 2007 by Muggsy

Rhodes is experienced in the league, you know what you're getting with him and he can't be worth THAT much..can he? Might not be a bad idea IMO. While they may have to get someone, I would suspect that rather than get into a high sweepstakes bidding war for a relatively young player - especially with Jacobs on the roster and looming as the featured RB already - that the Giants will wait for a vet RB that teams might be willing to dispose of and that NY can get some solid vet help at a discounted price. Guys like Ahman Green & Fred Taylor come immediately to mind - aging guys with injury histories who can still take on 120-150 touches in a season effectively. Chris Brown, Correll Buckhalter, Marcel Shipp, Antowain Smith are also out there and would be good additions to back up Jacobs while being capable of adding enough workload at the RB position. Printed speculation leeds me to believe that both Jamal Lewis and DeShaun Foster will be available as well.
