Crazysight
in 2007 draft? Edited February 16, 2007 by Crazysight
darin3
in 2007 draft? Hard to say. Ryans wasn't projected to be that big of an impact player pre-draft last year. Link to his pre-draft ranking. So are you looking for a rookie LB that is going to make a huge impact in his first season, regardless of pre-draft ranking? Or a mid-tier college LB that may surprise? If it's the latter, I would take a look at Desmond Bishop from Cal.
Sgt. Ryan
Have to wait and see who is drafted where. Ryans benefitted from a starting spot immediately, based on the teams need for a starting LB.
Fatman
Have to wait and see who is drafted where. Ryans benefitted from a starting spot immediately, based on the teams need for a starting LB. And went to a defense that spen a lot of time on the field.

CarryTheRock
and would have been nice to see if anyone commented if there had been a rookie fantasy U last year
TecmoBeast
seemed like Ryans was heavily projected as an OLB. at least that's what I remember reading. I think that's what made him such a steal.

Ryans benefitted from a starting spot immediately, based on the teams need for a starting LB. You make a very good point there. In fact we will probably have to wait for the preseason to get a real idea. I think he was still a sleeper going into the regular season, but some people were all over him. I know my brother (who took him in our rookie draft) was comparing him to Jason Taylor way back in October. Crazysight
Small School Sleepers I think DeOssie may have some potential there.
Randall
seemed like Ryans was heavily projected as an OLB. at least that's what I remember reading. I think that's what made him such a steal. That's where ESPN had him listed but said this Is an elite prospect but lacks elite top-end speed and ideal size. While he possesses adequate size as a MLB or WLB, he lacks ideal height and bulk for an SLB and will struggle to stack at the LOS vs. taller, bigger TE's in the NFL. Will need to improve his overall strength. A better fit size-wise at WLB in the NFL, but lacks ideal top-end speed at that position. Will have some trouble when forced to turn and run vs. faster RB's one-on-one. Had some minor injuries during career at Alabama, including both hamstrings in spring of 2005.
