Marty vs the Pats...

Okay, this is the typical "a guy who knows a guy knows a guy who told him THIS..."

Steve Czaban

I know somebody that had full audio access to that game. What he said, was mind-blowing.

You'll remember the infamous 4th and 11 call that probably doomed SD in the first quarter. This was the exchange that was heard “down-the-line” between Marty and Cam Cameron.

Marty: We're going for it.

Cameron: No f'ing way coach, we're kicking.

Marty: Find a play. We're going for it.

From then on it was a huge argument with cursing left and right. They had to call a time out and when Rivers came over he said, "What's going on, why aren't we kicking the field goal?"

So early in the second quarter, Marty yells into the mic, "Goddamnit, I'm so hyped up someone needs to get over here and calm me down." So the special teams coach comes over to him and talks to him and Marty says, "I was pulling into the parking lot today and I decided we were going to be aggressive. People don't think I can be aggressive but I decided driving in that we were going to be." And the ST coach says, "Coach. You can't let the outside stuff get to you."

I have good reason to believe this is within 93% of being true.

That story sounds like a load of horse crap.

:D Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

Czaban may be a bit of a pudknocker sometimes, but I don't think he would knowingly put up false information - so I'm taking him at his word that he trusts that his source isn't BSing him.

Knowing that I would be browbeaten off the board by some of you sceptics (understandable in the cyber world where we can pretend to be anyone), I made no mention of this when I started calling for Marty's head. This is the second time I have heard this, the first time was an almost identical version, including River's confusion. My "source"/friend is not "linkable", an since some here don't count this info (and actually piss some of you off), I made no mention, until now.

Some of you will remember my posts about the psyche of the game and how Marty just is not capable of managing team psyche (or his) when it is a must win situation. He loses it. It was evident during the Pats loss! That was not his only bad call.

Remember the TV commentary about how Schotty rarely used a headset during the season? They early in the game even showed a TV shot of him without it to "support" the commentary. Coincidentally from the "event" stated above in this thread on, Schotty pretty much had a headset surgically implanted on his head the rest of the game.

I also understand that he was responsible for the D going into the "prevent shell" at the end of the first half and had a great influence over the play calling in the second half, more than at any point since the Ravens game :D . The failure to kick and giving up the TD in the first half was arguably a 10-point swing in a game where the Pats admitted they threw out the game plan and had to go by the seat of their pants, all attributable to the moronic decisions of the Schott!

You call it, coincidence or BS. Doesn't matter to me, just sharing my :D:D

I for one am relieved he is GONE!

:D
