Looks like the Falcons are interested in trading away Matt Schaub. :D

Falcons to shop Schaub

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Falcons will look to trade QB Matt Schaub. Schaub, a restricted free agent, is expected to receive a one-year tender of $2 million and compensation attachment of a first and third pick to prevent teams from signing him as a free agent.

Since Schaub will become an unrestricted free agent in 2008, the Falcons will shop the talented back up quarterback around the league this off-season. They could net a second or third rounder. The Vikings, Raiders, and Texans are all possible trade partners for Schaub.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Edit- Upon further reading I expect we'll get a 1st rounder in a combo deal.

Dream on. The guy's has started how many NFL games? Look up how often a player gets traded for a #1 pick, and tell me he's not head and shoulders above Schaub.

Schaub for Randy Moss as a base for a trade - how obvious can it get?

HAHAHAHAHH!!!! And the Seahawks will soon be trading the recently retired Itula Mili for a first round pick. Come on boys, first round picks aren't candy.

I would add another team to the possibilities: the Jags. It's really hard to see what the plans are for Lefty but I really don't think he wants to come back. The Jags would probably be better off offering a 3rd round pick as they've had pretty good luck with their 2nd rounders. In fact, the 3rd rounders haven't been all that bad either while under the DelRio/Harris regime, the 1st rounders, with the exception of Mercedes Lewis(haven't seen enough of him yet) have been borderline busts if not flat out busts. How about this? The Jags offer Deon Grant(who wants more $ anyway), providing the Falcons offer him what he wants, and a 3rd rounder for Shaub and maybe a late round pick.

i've heard the words "schaub" and "first round pick" uttered together many-a-time here on the huddle, and always pointed out how stupid the idea was. however, i doubt there are many NFL GMs as dumb as most huddlers, so the falcons probably won't actually get that. but i guess you never know.

I, and other Chiefs fans, aren't ready to toss in the towel on Croyle just yet.

That, and I'm not a big fan of Schaub.

Looks like Herm might be though, having brought in washout Omar Jacobs. I have to wonder why Croyle wasn't in before Huard last year. That Jacobs pickup raised my eyebrows in terms of where the confidence in Croyle is.

Now, now ... just because Schaub should start at QB for Atl ahead of rightful change-of-pace-slash Michael Vick doesn't mean he's worth a 1st rounder ...

Exactly. Plus, it isn't like we are talking about the Redskins here! :D

Well Croyle never got a grasp of the offense and Huard has been here awhile, so you think a rookie should have started over the backup who's been running the plays here for years?

Green and Huard are both done or about done as Chiefs, they picked up Printers last year and he's most likely in the same category as Jacobs.......a project that will most likely never amount to anything. I want Croyle to start next season, throw him to the wolves, let's see what this kid's got.

And Calvin Johnson with the first!

Offensive Coordinator Knapp and Offensive Line Coach Noble just came from Atlanta's previous coaching staff to join the Raiders. Knapp knows Schuab pretty well, so hopefully the Raiders are in serious discussion with Atlanta right now

If we traded Moss for Schwab, and drafted Calvin with the first that would be a great start for Kiffen.
