CarryTheRock
Any insight on his value for 2007?
Zooty
I would think it would go up especially if the use more 4-3 alignments. I did read somewhere (can't remember though) that Haggens could move inside. I could see Tomlin start to incorporate move of the 4-3 look even with 3-4 personel. max
I think if the Steelers go to incorporating the 4-3 scheme it will help Farrier from a fantasy stand point. Also with players under contract coming up on their "bonus" dates that seeing who is kept and who is let go will play a factor. If what I read (pasted below) becomes true then the stock of Farrior will also go up. What is posted below is not a done deal, just speculation at this point based on the web site listed in the article. Porter to be released David Fair Steeler Nation.com March 1, 2007 It's being reported that Steelers linebacker Joey Porter will probably be cut in the coming week. The Steelers are currently negotiating with all 2008 free agents, except Porter. In his recent one on one meeting with Joey, new Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin seemed less than impressed giving a less than enthusiastic statement that, "(Porter is) under contract, he's a Pittsburgh Steeler." Tomlin has also gone on record as saying that the team will be deeply rooted in a blue collar work ethic and that all players are expected to report to camp on time, ready to go to work. Some have speculated that this was a thinly veiled comment to Porter, after his agent could not give the Steelers a guarantee that Porter would not hold out of training camp. The eight-year veteran is due a $1 million bonus if he is on the Steelers' roster March 6 and his base salary for the 2007 season will be $4 million unless his contract is restructured or Porter is released. darin3
Farrior as a true MLB could be huge. The guy put up REAL big numbers in the 3-4. Probably enough to be a #1 fantasy LB. Keep in mind, though, he's entering his 12th NFL season. While he has remained generally healthy in his career, you never know when the knees start wearin' down.
