untateve
Well, at least to me it's new. I stumble across it in via my internet searches. A Western Carolina Vinegar sauce. Really simple but really good. 2 cups cider vinegar 2/3 cup ketchup 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp hot sauce 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce 2 tbsps butter 1 tsp red pepper flakes 1 tsp dry mustard 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper Combine all in saucepan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 30 mins, stirring often. Make sure to make this sauce a least a day in advance to allow flavors to meld together.

Chief Dick
I usually don't mix my pulled pork with a sauce, but may have to give this a try. Looks good.
untateve
I usually don't mix my pulled pork with a sauce, but may have to give this a try. Looks good. I keep the sauces I make on the side so that people can taste them and decide which, if any, they want to use.

PantherDave
Very similar to my families Mustard Vinegar recipe, as we will sometimes switch up the mustard for ketchup when we have a pork shoulder.
PantherDave
I'm getting Pope a Carolina BBQ sauce care package together, but my family has had one for years that my Mom's father invented many years ago(before I was born) and I called Momma PD to make sure she was OK with me sharing it-she said yes, as her dad ,CD, would have gotten pleasure from people enjoying it. CD's BBQ Sauce(We use it primarily on chicken-just grill the chicken, break it apart and throw it in a bowl and add the sauce, it can be used on pork as well) 1/2 cup regular vinegar 1 stick butter melted 3 tablespoons lemon juice 1 to 2 tablespoons yellow mustard(we use just one) 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon sugar 2 teaspoons whostershire sauce Tabasco-to taste Crushed Red Pepper-to taste Enjoy authentic Carolina Mustard base BBQ sauce, from my family to yours, Bon Appetite-Peace PD. Is there a carolina family sauce recipe you use for pulled pork? I'm getting a hankering to smoke a pork butt and I'm looking for a new sauce. Omit the butter and mustard and substitue 1 tablespoon tomato paste and 1/2 can small tomato juice. Also, and I'm sorry, thought I said ketchup as well untateve-my bad.
