Generic IDP rules

Recommended Posts

Can some one post what would be considered a "typical" IDP lineup and scoring setup. IE, for offensive players a "generic" system is 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K with scoring at 1 pt per 10 yards rush/rec, 1 per 25 passing, 6 per TD scored, 4 per passing.

Looking for something similar for IDP if there is, such as what positions are generally included (ie, DT/DE combined or separate, CB/S commbined or separate, etc.) All assistance is appreciated.

Although I'm a self-admitted IDP newbie, I've almost always seen MLBs and OLBs lumped together into the LB position, DT+DE into DL position and CB+S into DB position.

Not sure what you would view as standard but my guess would be this.

tackle - 1

assist - 0.5

pass defensed - 1

sack - 1 or 2

Forced fumble - 2

fumble recovered - 2

int - 2

some leagues give INT and fumble return yards - 1pt/10yds

defensive TD - 6 pts

some leagues give KR yards - 1 yd/25 yds

Generic

tackle - 2

assist - 1

pass defensed - 1.5

sack - 2

Forced fumble - 3

fumble recovered - 3

int - 3

safety - 3

defensive TD - 6 pts

Start 2 DL, 3 LB, 3 DB

Pretty good answer, except that in a normal performance system, the D players, especially the LBs, will score way too high for many owner's tastes.

I'd expect more of a 1.0-1.5 pt/tackle & 0.5-1.0 pt/assist to be more reasonable. If you use a 1.0/0.5 tackle/assist scoring system, your top LBs will perform more like #3 WRs. If you use a 1.5/1.0 tackle/assist scoring system, you'll see the top 3 to 4 LBs showing up in the top 25 scorers.

Starting 2DL, 2LB, & 3DB with 1 flex player would get a generic system done pretty well.
