What are they doing? All three of these guys can't make the grade so the lions have a bunch or #2's and #3"s in their backfield. Millen is a joke! Should of went after Willis ! Who said K.Jones was gonna be ok to start the season looks like they are scared he won't make it.

As someone who lives in michigan, and is a lions fan...I scratch my head with this move and every move they make...WR in the first round anyone..... :D

This is so far out of left field... I have no clue anymore what the Lions are doing. TJ Duckett hasn't ever been used as a true FB. He's a decent running back, but I don't think he can replace Schlesinger.

I've always liked Duckett and thought he got kind of a raw deal in Atlanta. I know the Lions claim KJ's rehab is right on schedule, but I don't think they can count on him playing next year. The combination of Bell for explosiveness and Duckett for power makes a nice backfield combination. If KJ is heathly then great, they have depth for when one of them gets hurt and since its the Lions, one of them will. I actually like what Millen's done with the backfield so far, I didn't want to go into next season counting on KJ but at the same time I didn't want to spend a high draft pick on his replacement. So, instead they've picked up two 26-year old veteran backs still in the prime of their careers for cheap. Not that I think either of these guys is a long term solution, but the Lions can use this next year to evaluate KJ's health and future with the organization. Besides, the Lions are going to have a top ten pick again next year anyways, so they can always draft their franchise running back then. Right now there are more pressing needs at almost every position.

Year 8 and rebuilding version 3.0 under Millen...things are starting to come together!

Now all we need is a QB, OL, DE, CB, MLB, TE and its Super Bowl here we come!!!

Everyone needs to remember that, when healthy, KJ is a better back than everyone else on the roster combined. Bell and Duckett are cheap, experienced backups. Nothing more.

...says the KJ dynasty owner :D

I agree. Plus, when is the last time the Lions had a RB that went the entire year without getting hurt since Barry? KJ has never went the whole season, and Bell breaks down as well. As far as I am concerned you can never have to many RB's. No TJ is not a stud like he was in college but serviceable.

HAHA... Did you see Kevin Jones play this year? He was a strong no.2 fantasy back... Did you see Willis McGahee and his 960 rushing yards? Also, think about McGahee's three long runs that went for 280 yards... If you take away those runs, he had around 700 yards. Kevin Jones>Willis McGahee.

I think it proves that Bell is going to be traded.

I also think that KJ is going to be playing week 1.
