Titans won't let Pacman work out

Fisher: Jones is out until legal issues over

By PAUL KUHARSKY

Staff Writer

Most of the Titans will return to Nashville on March 19 to begin the team's offseason conditioning program, but Coach Jeff Fisher said Friday he won't allow Pacman Jones to participate in the workouts.

Jones is scheduled for a court appearance the same day in Fayetteville, Ga., to face charges of obstructing police in a Feb. 2006 incident.

Fisher said he spoke briefly Thursday night with Jones for the first time since the Feb. 19 melee at a Las Vegas strip club when Jones was there. A triple shooting that followed is being investigated, and Jones is not a suspect.

"I don't see him coming back on the 19th," Fisher said. When or whether Jones could return "depends on the conclusion (of legal matters) and at what point we're able to finish the fact-gathering process."

Jones may also face discipline from the NFL.

Friday morning, Fisher and Titans chief operating officer Steve Underwood met with Jones' lawyers, Manny Arora and Worrick Robinson.

"It really was an opportunity just to make sure we are keeping them informed to the extent possible," Robinson said. "Mr. Jones does work for the Titans. They certainly have a tremendous interest in his status and the status of the legal issues."

Now that the Judge pushed his hearing back by six weeks, will this change Fisher's thinking or is this thug officially finished in Tennessee?

I dont know for sure. But there is a HUGH sentiment around Nashville to cut bait on Pacman.
