Is the rookie forum complete?

I was going to release a couple more next week but there has not been much participation or even page views from it so far and that was from all the "star" players.

They get even less attractive from here on out. Most people want to know what team they land on before they seem to get interested.

Maybe call it the NFL Draft forum? Other topics could be posted like team needs etc. I would like to see more discussion other than just player profiles.

I would like to see a write up on Jason Hill. I hope the Vikes get this guy. I think he will be a second rounder.

I think a lot of FF'ers know the star players fairly well. It's the thrid round and later "dynasty with IDP rookie draft picks" sort that I would be more interested in. There are so many sources for the star high pick players.... they are fairly easy to evaluate and draft, it's those jewels you can get in the thrid round and later that can make or break your dynasty team in a year or two.

An exanple of such a player last year is Brandon Marshall.... a guy who only showed up on the national radar kinda late... around bowl season and the Shrine game. Another intersting sort from last year would be Brad Smith and M Robinson, two college QB's that were drafted to play other positions in the NFL.

This year, that kid from AZ that blew up the combine, the RB... geeze, what's his name again? Escapes me at the moment, but he would be interesting to discuss. Just my 2 cents...

PS: Chris Henry is the AZ RB I was talking about...

I think there is more interesting stuff to discuss pre-draft, but obviously, strengths and weaknesses will be crystallized a bit more once these guys are allocated.

Perhaps, if not an individual forum, just threads asking about certain players and see if someone bites?

For instance, Jason Hill? Saw him up close at Wazzu in the Pac-10.

His consistency and production in college was rather remarkable. He had 75 yards receiving OR 1 touchdown in 26 of his 33 collegiate games. In 3 of those 7 where he didn't reach those marks, he still caught 5+ passes.

He ran the fastest 40 at the combine, so his stock started taking off. I believe he has a chance to be the 2nd best WR in this draft class (as do about 10 others), and develop as the #1 on an NFL team.

He obviously has the speed, but he's also 6-0/205. He gets knocked for "playing slow" by some scouting reports. I think this knock is unfair because he runs routes all over the field.

Durability issues possibly, as he missed the tail end of the 2006 campaign with shoulder problems (I think), and missed a game his Jr season as well.

Well that sucks.

It sure would be easy to write a FF rookie draft magazine after the draft takes place - of course, I don't know how well it would do in sales against the other national draft publications already in place before the draft.

I've got one 5 round rookie IDP dynasty draft that starts next week, another 8 round IDP dynasty draft that starts the Monday immediately after the draft, and a third 7 round IDP dynasty draft that starts one week after the draft ends.

By the time the lower tired rookies get brought up, if they ever do, all 3 drafts will be long over and any new information will be of much less value. I guess these 3 leagues must be the exception to the rule as far as rookie drafts. Most must draft in July or August, I guess - though I haven't seen many that don't draft close to the end of the NFL draft.
