The Colts open at home for the first time since 1999. This will only be Peyton Manning's second time opening the season at home. Despite that, the Colts are 7-2 in openers with Manning under center, 7-1 since 1999.

The Colts first 3 divisional games are on the road. Conversely, their last 3 divisional games are at home.

The Colts play all three of the teams they faced in the AFC play-offs at the same location (home vs. KC, at Balt, home vs. NE).

The Colts have 3 stretches of back-to-back road games, including a MNF game in Jacksonville followed by a game in Carolina 6 days later as well as a SNF game at Baltimore followed by a game at Oakland . . .

The 11/4 game vs. New England will be the teams 10th meeting since 2001. . .

The last time the Colts played Tampa Bay was a memorable game on MNF on Dungy's birthday. It comes nearly 4 years to the day again this season, missing Dungy's birthday by one day.

It's almost like they are a divisional opponent. The only teams I think that we've played more often are teh Texans, Jaguars, and Titans 13 times by that date.

I wonder how Indy-NE compare to other teams playing non-divisional opponents. Is 10 times since 2001 unusual?

8-8 if they're lucky.

If the Jags treat the Colts the same way they treated the Steelers on MNF, it could be a very long evening for the champs. Of course, Indy has an extra week to prepare for that game. :D

Of course, that's assuming that JAX doesn't have one of their "off" weeks, like the two where they lost to the Texans last year. :D That said, I don't see the Colts being a powerhouse this season and JAX typically plays them hard.

Nah, mediocrity is the Jags m.o. Jacksonville wasn't even the second best team in the division. The Titans were. Nice job treading water Del Rio!
