Mike Triplett, New Orleans Times-Picayune -

New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister is recovering from arthroscopic surgery that was performed in early February to clean out scar tissue and repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee. RB E. James Recovering From Minor Knee Surgery

Darren Urban, East Valley Tribune -

The Arizona Cardinals recently announced that running back Edgerrin James underwent minor surgery on his knee during the off-season in order to drain fluid from his knee. He may miss at least a portion of the team's upcoming mini-camps. However, he is expected to fully recover before the team opens Training Camp.

:D

Same minor offseason surgeries that we see every year. They are meaningless & predominantly remove tissue that has become an annnoyance or prevent a very slight range of motion.

Funny how the guys always wait until mini-camp time to get this stuff done, huh?

I never understood how surgeries and the like are even a player's option. The team should always control the timing of these procedures. If the player chooses a late date to have this taken care of and then misses training camp/games because of it, he should lose pay until he is back.

As a player...this is your livelihood...why take a chance on not being able to heal in time for camp?

my understanding of their pay is that it's real minimal during offseason - they get paid per game during the season

not saying wrong or right (although the players would probably say - surgery is a job related issue, not cutting into off-time, and while the salary isn't comparable, i'd understand the point)

On another related issue - anyone else think Edge has a huge year?

:D Reminds me of Steve Smith timing his vacation with OTA's.

Both of these guys are on my dynasty team... :D

I had Duece on mine glad I got rid of him. He is a good player when healthy but he burned me a few times in my FF life so I am glad I parted with him.

Now that I gave him up he is going to break records...of his knee one or the other though.

Last year was the first year I had him and I got him on the cheap... just 8 percent of my entire cap, so Im rolling with him...
