The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder was released by the Washington Redskins last month after two disappointing seasons. He caught 23 passes with no touchdowns while battling knee and hamstring injuries. Patten, 32, had his best career stretch as a part-time starter with the New England Patriots from 2001 to '04.
