Avacado, tomatoes, and green leaf lettuce, topped with chopped portobellos, homemade croutons, and some out of this world red wine vinagrette made from ingredients brought back from Italy last week.

i just take some bread, any bread will do, tonight i'm using a french bread loaf. cut them into little squares, soak them in a little garlic butter or some herbs or oil or whatever, stick them in the over on low-ish heat for 10 minutes and voila!

I made some polenta croutons earlier in the week to go on a caesar salad. Good stuff.

often make homemade croutons...... i like using larger ones tossed in basil oil for panzanella and serve them warm.

You do anything special or just standard recipe??

 

 

standard to below average....... :D.... my wife can't handle the wonderful aroma of Kraut ..... :tup: so when she's around it's Rye/Pump swirl bread w/ cornbeef, Provolone, Thousand island......

 

I Kraut alone................Ya with nobody else :D

Ah...making them tonight - drinking now to enhace the taste - same route as you - except using swiss. Add kraut and thousand Island - side of Zesties fries and follow up with enormous bowl of Turkey Hill Coconut Cream Pie Ice Cream. I love Sunday - diet is off.

:D .........Last New Years i ate a plate of 10 hr old warm greasy Swiss cheese that was left over and sittin out on the counter.......just can't go back yet..... :tup: ....diet boycott here too...Reubens again and frozen choc. chip cookie dough balls........ :D
