Apathy
From KFFL: Broncos | Team to trade up in draftFri, 27 Apr 2007 10:30:36 -0700 Neil Stratton, of Inside the League, reports that the Houston Texans, as previously rumored, will swap first-round draft picks in this year's NFL Draft with the Denver Broncos Friday, April 27, in exchange for the Broncos' second-round pick, No. 56 overall. The Broncos would select Mississippi LB Patrick Willis with the No. 10 pick in the draft.
rajncajn
From KFFL: That's still just considered a rumor, correct? If that turns out to be true there are going to be a lot of disappointed DJ fans. Edited April 27, 2007 by rajncajn
Sgt. Ryan
Why would Houston move down that far, for a late pick in round 2. There has to be more to this than that. No way Houston does this.
Bronco Billy
Who would've predicted that... I don't think Willis is the guy DEN is aiming at though - not after picking up Holdman. Edited April 27, 2007 by Bronco Billy
Azazello1313
Who would've predicted that... I don't think Willis is the guy DEN is aiming at though - not after picking up Holdman. there's some chatter it's carricker, but i kinda hope not, i dunno how well he fits what they need. much rather see them grab willis. also, i wouldn't be too surprised if one of the DTs are in their crosshairs. nothing really to substantiate this, but i guess i would sorta predict this trade is a preamble to another move up, maybe to 6. CaP'N GRuNGe
I gotta hand it to Denver. They sure are active. As a fan of the Broncos you've got to love that.
muck
GB the activity in the AFC West this pre-draft season!
AtomicCEO
GB the activity in the AFC West this pre-draft season! One thing I like about Denver is they are always hustling. They don't sit back and wait for things to happen, and that's why they are always contenders. They are like Los Gigantes before his retirement from ff. Kansas State 2000
KFFL is usually acurate but has anyone found confirmation on this?
Swiss Cheezhead
This would make it easier for Houston to take Joe Staley.
rajncajn
PFT saying it isn't true now. POSTED 4:02 p.m. EDT, April 27, 2007 REPORT OF TEXANS-BRONCOS TRADE NOT TRUE There's a report on a web site that posts football new snippets in small blurbs with even smaller fonts that used to get a lot more traffic than us (but no longer does) stating that the Broncos have consummated a trade with the Texans for a flip-flop of the No. 10 and No. 21 pick in the draft. But Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the report is false, and that the Broncos and Texans have not had a single serious discussion about swapping picks. Schefter also says that the Broncos would never do a deal like this before the draft. That makes sense to us, since the purpose of moving up would be to get a specific guy who might or might not be there when the higher pick is used. Outshined
KFFL is usually acurate but has anyone found confirmation on this? you be the judge: http://www.insidetheleague.com/itl/index.php Looks chessy to me...

Azazello1313
...a web site that posts football new snippets in small blurbs with even smaller fonts that used to get a lot more traffic than us (but no longer does)... especially considering the source. Schefter also says that the Broncos would never do a deal like this before the draft. That makes sense to us, since the purpose of moving up would be to get a specific guy who might or might not be there when the higher pick is used. unless they were targeting a further move up, or houston wanted to nail them down. i guess we'll see on this, i wouldn't be too surprised either way. Apathy
I'm still looking for some "other" confirmation guys and sorry if it was premature.
rajncajn
especially considering the source. When I read that I was thinking how ironic it was that they are trying to bash the credibility of another news source that pretty much operates the same way they do by posting BS & trying to make it sound like there is some validity to it. Swiss Cheezhead
I've actually talked to the guy who runs Inside the League (Neil Stratton) quite a few times -- he takes his credibility very seriously, so I doubt this was unfounded gossip. If this is ends up being false, then a trustworthy source made a mistake. I'd say this report pretty much guarantees that the Broncos and Texans are actually in negotiations. It's probably better than 50/50 that this gets done today or early tomorrow.
satelliteoflovegm
If this or something similiar happens, it is the lynch pin for 2-4 other deals. Including the Bills trading down and geting the second or even third best LB or CB. Unless the Broncos do covet Carriker and not Willis. This is shaping up to be actually an exciting draft. Not just the usaully interesting draft.
