PantherDave
Well, Hartwig is completely recovered but will have to compete for the starting C spot with Kalil. Beason started with the 1st team and was at WLB with Davis at SLB and Morgan at MLB. Nate Selly started at FS beside Minter at SS. There can be changes of course, and Jarrett did start with the 1st team at WR. Just MC, but a glimpse perhaps.
PantherDave
I'm curiuos about DeAngelo and the CB battle will be one of the best. I truly believe Lucas or Gamble will play the nickel, as Marshall is the best CB on the roster.
peepinmofo
Are the Panthers keeping Foster? Is he gonna get another chance?

Randall
PD- Are you in town? He said he was going out of town in the draft thread. Salley Lining Up As Starting Safety Charlotte Observer - Hardly with a vote of confidence, but for now, the starter at safety with veteran Mike Minter appears to be second-year pro Nate Salley. After not landing a safety with an early pick in last weekend's draft, the Panthers say they'll continue exploring their free-agency options and haven't ruled out a trade if the right offer comes around. PantherDave
PD- Are you in town? No, I was not in Charlotte for the MC, but my eye's and ear's in Charlotte took a gander-pretty much the common info on the net as well, but it's just MC, so I put very little stock and trade into just yet. PantherDave
Smitty banged up a knee-nothing to worry about on the injury front. Yes, Peep, Foster is still with the team, and the Panthers will use a RBBC approach for the entire season. It's to early to really tell anything at all, but you may see Deangelo start one week and Foster the following. As of now it's RB 1A and 1B. The key will be the OL, who is learning the "zone blocking" technique and where who will play-right now Fox say's "The Best Five", and they are all getting looks at different positions on the line. Bridges played RG in MC instead of RT etc.. Hartwig is recovered but may move to RG and Kalil will play C, Whale will stay a LG. If Wharton gan't go then Gross will man the LT again-but it is really up in the air right now. The main thing is the Cat's have great depth and experince on the OL now due to last years IR and this years draft.

Swampnuts
I guess you could've heard a pin drop today when Smitty had to be helped off the field, and then have his knee iced down. Except for Keyshawn laughing somewhere in the distance.....

Except for Keyshawn laughing somewhere in the distance..... They'll most likely call it a "bruise" or "strain", as I heard he did not twist it but just fell on it akwardly. Also 2nd year Rashad Butler may take over completey at LT if reports are true about being bigger, stronger and faster than his rookie-no play year. PantherDave
http://www.gastongazette.com/onset?id=4706...te=article.html Pretty much what I gleaned from earlier in the month, but here is a break-down. Also, he echo's my take on Hartwig and the O Line....also I heard that Rashad Butler has undergone a metamorphasis....and he apparently may indeed start at LT afterall
