Grits and Shins
Well I'm no chef but we cooked a meal the other day that was very simple and enjoyable. Mix half cup of maple syrup and half cup of soy sauce. Marinate salmon in this mixture for a couple of hours ... while soaking your cedar plank in water. Put salmon on the cedar plank and place on medium hot grill, no need to turn the salmon. Very tasty. Next day the salmon makes very tasty salmon quesidas and/or salmon salad sandwiches. One of my favorites - cedar and salmon go so well together.
Seattle LawDawg
No doubt about. Its tough to go wrong with a cedar planked salmon. I hope you were marinating atlantic salmon...NW salmon shouldn't need marinade unless you get a pink or maybe a coho (although NW purists wouldn't marinade coho either), king or sockeye shouldn't need much more than some evoo, s&p, and the cedar. Apple and cherry work well with salmon as well. You get a little different flavor and often times I will smoke salmon with applewood. Seattle LawDawg
coho are the beat buy fare Coho's good but much lower in the Omega 3s. I like Sockeye, then King. Then Coho for a much different flavor.
