I think the 4-7 spots are the toughest this year as you have to make the hard decisions about which of the tier 2 RBs to take early, while those in the 8-10 spot get to pick the ones you dont take and likely get similar if not greater performance. What about taking shaun last year....Everyone thought he would be a lock to be a stud but he was awful and I am sure that he went number 1 or 2 in a lot of drafts. I'd take the #2 all day long. Choosing between LJ and SJ is hardly a bad thing either way you go. Same for picking at #4 since you get either Gore, Alexander, Addai, etc. There is no bad draft spot really but the reality is that the further back you are in round one, the more challenged you are to get RBs that are highly productive and central to a good team. After about 18 or 19 years playing FF, I have concluded that I will always want the earlist draft pick that I can get. The earlier, the better. Playing the back-end swing (1.12 and 2.01) is kind of fun though since it lets you do some different things with two picks back to back. I am just nervous to make a decision like that. It is obvious that you are going to get a much better player at the 4 than you would at 9...but i feel it is a harder pick because you have the chance to take an unreal player but you could easily screw it up because there are so many candidates for that spot. RB situations have shaken out very nicely and the top 7-8 WRs are tightly packed. Picking at the bottom turn in the 1st gets you a very good, potnetially #1 quality RB to tandem with your 1st rounder, or you can latch onto a top WR and wait for the 3/4 turn for your RB, where there have been decent #2 RBs sitting. I'm not sure if there is a bad spot this year. I think I'd prefer not to be in the 5-8 range just for the reason that you'll have less choices in the 2nd round than the 9-12 guys, but it's certainly not the worst spot to be in. This ought to be a great year for FF drafting, and I'm thinking the middle to late rounds are going to make that much more difference with the depth of quality at the top. He laughed and laughed... clown. ANYWAY, I gotta concur with the masses, I think after slot 4 this year, it's down to which negative you like least. Uh...did that make sense? I see a significant drop from LT, LJ, SJ, and Gore down to Addai, SA, Parker, Brown, Rudi, et al. Don't have any statistics to predicate, player evaluation,injury history, projections or anything else to throw out there validating why I pick Gore. He's a 49er and that's almost good enough for me. That coming from a lifelong fan that lives on the opposite coast supporting a team I rarely get to go watch play.Nor is it the fact that the Niners have been getting pimped since free agency began and walked away from the draft with several players that are gonna be a big part of the team's journey back to being one of the top teams in the NFC. He has a teammate that I think is going to be a top three TE soon, Vernon Davis, who just also happens to have played college ball in my home state of Maryland. Gore's quarterback, Alex Smith, IS going to be better this year with the addtion of DJAX,who'll play and have some success even with his turf toe. Rookie Jason Hill I feel is in a good situation for a rookie and will be successful with what playing time he gets. I just feel some things are lining up for Frank Gore to put up top 5 numbers this year EVEN if Norv Turner's not there. I would not be upset to snag LJ, however, there is something about KC that worries me a bit. After pick #4, I think I'd rather have #7 than pick #5 or #6 because as many have said, the next bunch of guys are interchangeable and I'll get a chance at swiping a top tier WR or one of the last remaining tier 2 RBs. At the 5 spot, it's anyone's guess and I don't want to be forced to consider Manning for my #2 pick. I had tiki barber last year and even though he was a yard monster he scored like 3 times the whole year. I mean I like Gore a lot, but over LJ or SJ? I'd think twice at this point about making that choice in the draft. If you'd take Manning in the 5 spot, I'd love to have you in my league. In a non-PPR league, I really (REALLY) don't want to be picking 6-12. In a PPR league, I really (REALLY) don't want to be picking 7-12. PS - This is why auctions are the best way to go.
