irish
You can scratch the G-Men off the list of competition for the NFC East Crown. NYG - Giants QB Manning Struggles - But Not Panicked (but should be) New York Giants QB Eli Manning had a difficult three-day minicamp as he, new OC Kevin Gilbride and QB coach Chris Palmer try to iron out the kinks of previous season. But the team feels there are many reasons not to panic. Manning is overloaded with information from the altered system and he's also trying to master new mechanics designed to help his accuracy and consistency. It's interesting to hear they'd be tweaking his mechanics at this stage of his career. I don't much like the sound of that. Between injuries to wide receivers, to star TEs too busy to show up for OTA's to the loss of Tiki Barber, I'm more than a little concerned about the Giants. They've got no shot this year!! i_am_the_swammi
So essentially what you are saying is that now the Eagles only have to go 8-6 in their other 14 games to win yet another division crown?
tarantula
It is just more evidence that Eli is the most overrated players in the league. I bet about now that lots of gi-ANTS fans are wishing they had Philip Rivers
FanProphet
Tweaking mechanics is a constant in professional sports. That's what makes them professionals and why they continue to improve with propher coaching. Golfers, Pitchers, QB's, whatever the sport doesn't matter, they see things that players can't see. I wouldn't be too concerned as a Giants fan about Manning as much as I would about Coughlin. As a Cowboys fan, this doesn't matter as. The Cowboys will win the East with Peyton Qb'ing the Giants. Coaches do fix mechanics but they don't want to especially with a guy like Manning as his present mechanics are well-engrained and could create problems in the future. It can become a mental think and that's the worst!! If I'm a Giant fan I may be more concerned about Coughlin but I wouldn't be kidding myself either when it came to Manning. I'd be just as concerned with him as well. But you are right about one thing, the Cowboys will win the East!! Mark it down today. Better yet etch it in stone. i_am_the_swammi
I know I laughed a little bit at that myself. I think he meant to say "The Cowboys will win the East even if the Giants had Peyton (rather than Eli) at the helm). So the guy got both parts of his point incorrect. Martz is breaking Stanton down and building him back up. This should have been done with Eli years ago. Maybe now Eli will have his best games when it matters instead of early in the season. It's okay to break a guy like Stanton down who won't be starting immmediately but breaking a guy down when he's supposed to be a star already, is the franchise and will have more of the load dropped onto his shoulders without Tiki is a very mis-timed decision and could have some horrific outcomes. Cowboyz1
Eli, you'll never be as good as your big brother..................NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter how hard you try Oh and the reason you can't see the light is because your always in your brothers shadow........... A lot of your success or lack their of, is due to the unfair pressure thrust upon you by the media, fans, critics, teammates, coaches, friends, family, and, well just about everyone your letting down by not winning. I mean really it's not like you've had Harrison and Wayne to throw to or a great RB to hand off too or a great O line to protect you. What do they expect you to do? Hand to ball off to a Hall of Fame Runner like Barber, or throw to guys like Toomer or Burress or a tight end like Shockey all day and win. Man you got it rough kid.............If I were you I'd just quit before they make you start having to drop back to pass without shaking, and start putting goals in front of you like completion percentages, interception ratios, passer ratings and crap. They may just be managing you out dude, it's been a few years now since you snubbed San Diego.......... Just between me an you, that Rivers kid..............he's better n you too!
