Goopster24
Link For the most part, unlike many Bears fans, I support Rex Grossman and I think he will get much better this season. I know there are plenty of people, Bears fans and not, that just rail on this guy. Know that he isn't a slouch and is working to get better. We will see what happens in the most important year of his career. Edited July 9, 2007 by Goopster24
Bill Swerski
Unfortunately, I don't share your optimism. Rex reminds me a lot of Jeff George: He has all of the physical gifts to be a stud, but he doesn't read defenses well and has difficulty handling pressure. Those latter two traits are the kiss of death for an NFL QB.

Those latter two traits are the kiss of death for an NFL QB. Plus he has an unfortunate ego problem. At least, that was what I observed. I still think he should have the opportunity to lead the Bears into 2007 but the leash will have to be short. I'll willingly sacrifice all those 100+ QB ratings if we can also lose the 0-30 ratings too.
Bronco Billy
Link For the most part, unlike many Bears fans, I support Rex Grossman and I think he will get much better this season. I know there are plenty of people, Bears fans and not, that just rail on this guy. Know that he isn't a slouch and is working to get better. We will see what happens in the most important year of his career. The most important year of his career was last year. If he had been merely mediocre in the biggest game of his life, CHI would have won the SB by a TD or more. He and his team mates may never get another chance. I think you've got a tough sell on your hands if you're going to support Pep Hamilton's "(Grossman's) accuracy is outstanding and he has one of the most impressive arms that I’ve seen of any of the quarterbacks that I’ve been around in the short time that I’ve been in the league. In terms of his decision-making, he’s in his fifth year in the NFL and it shows. He consistently makes good decisions." remarks.
Bill Swerski
Plus he has an unfortunate ego problem. At least, that was what I observed. He does have ego issues, which became very apparent when he went off on the media during the week before the SB. In my unqualified opinion, I think that he has some serious confidence issues that he tries to mask by acting overly-confident at times. That would also explain why he morphs into a turnover machine when his team loses the lead.

bigrocks
Grossman s*cks. Oh sure, he's pretty impressive given a lead and lots of time in the pocket and a clear sunny day.... blah blah blah. But if its not all going fine and dandy he falls apart.
kingfish247
How Griese was never seriously given a shot is beyond me... he's an injury risk but he's a career 63%/84+ QB rating passer. If Dilfer can manage not to screw up enough for the 2000 Ravens D... Griese should do fine. In fact compared to Dilfer's career stats, Griese might as well be Dan F-in Marino. Griese has a 8% comp rate/13 QB rating pt advantage over Dilfer. He's only 3 years removed from 69%/20 TDs/12 ints in 10 starts. And that was behind the rebuilding OL of Tampa and Michael Pittman as the leading rusher.
