DMD
Or can they just not imagine playing without Troy Brown somewhere. He's going to be so buried on the depth charts that he'll probably end up just filling the gatorade cups at games. And he won't complain either. Troy Brown reportedly returning to Patriots Even though they splurged on receivers this offseason, the Patriots reportedly still have room for a familiar face. According to Boston-area media reports, Troy Brown, the Patriots' all-time leading receiver, has agreed to terms on a one-year deal and is returning to New England for a 15th season. The 36-year-old Brown has spent the past six months rehabbing his knee following surgery. The Patriots overhauled their receiving corps this offseason, adding Randy Moss, Donte' Stallworth, Kelley Washington and Wes Welker. Brown has versatility on his side, however, as he has played defensive back for New England the past few seasons when the Patriots' secondary was beset with injuries. He is the franchise's all-time leader in receptions with 557, having passed Stanley Morgan last season.
Ruffian
Word on the street is that Steve Grogan is backing Brady up this year. Swear to God.
ced1001
Yeah, it's not like he made the single most important play of the season for the Patriots last year.

My guess is he's there for veteran leadership and depth in the secondary?

Washington, Stallworth, and to a lesser extent, Moss and Welker... all come with a history of injuries or missing games.
