PaulOttCarruth
JSOnline Looks like he's drawing early comparisons to Sterling Sharpe. A snippet from the article: Brett Favre, his quarterback, seemed to agree and developed a quick chemistry with the young wide receiver during their brief introduction. Favre compared Jones with Sterling Sharpe, from a physical standpoint. Sharpe, Green Bay's all-time leading receiver with 595 receptions, was putting up Hall of Fame numbers before his career was cut short by a neck injury in 1994. Sharpe played at 5-11 and 201 pounds. At the combine in 1988 he ran 40 yards in 4.54 and 4.49, according to the National and Blesto combines. Sharpe suffered from the same "lack of speed" as Jones, but was sure-handed, strong and able to take the ball away from defenders. Green Bay's coaches see those same qualities in Jones and believe he plays faster than he times. "We really like his size, his passion for the game of football," said Joe Philbin, Green Bay's offensive coordinator. "He plays hard. He's a physical guy. And he's a guy who catches the ball with his hands. You think every receiver in the NFL has got great hands, but some don't.
piratesownninjas
He'll have time to develop as well... I think he'll beat out Furgy to be the no.3 guy. Then sit and wait for Driver to slow down, which could take another 3-4 years...
