Big Country
Here's a thread about 4 posts down from this one -- Link For me, grilling one tonight. Been marinating in a soy sauce, balsamic, worcestershire, honey, dry mustard and garlic marinade for almost two days now. Was gonna have it yesterday but situations came up where we were not home in time to grill it up for dinner, so doing it tonight. (note, the actual marinade called for red wine, which I did not have any of, so I substituted the balsamic and worcestershire in there)
detlef
Not grilled, but insanely good. Pre-heat oven to 400. Take 3-4 lbs of rock salt and about 10 egg whites and mix into a paste. Sear the tri tip on all sides. In oven proof pan, spread a layer of salt mixture. Place tri tip on top and cover with rest of mixture. Roast about 12-15 minutes per pound. Allow to rest at least 5 minutes and break salt crust away. Slice and eat.

Will either do this or Bier's marinade with the tritip I still got ini the freezer
