Bill Swerski
I knew that he wasn't stupid enough to throw away a guaranteed $7 million+.
bushwacked
Didn't he learn from Walter Jones? You're supposed to wait until the last week of camp to do this.
Goopster24
Chicago will advance Briggs, who had earlier threatened to sit out until the 10th week of the season, $1 million. More important, the Bears have agreed that they will not use a franchise marker in 2008 on Briggs, provided the four-year veteran participates in 75 percent of the defensive snaps this season. Bronco Billy
Goodbye LB sleeper Jamar Williams.
darin3
Goodbye LB sleeper Jamar Williams. And dynasty sleeper Michael Okwo.... ...but of course, Briggs is probably gone after this year ( ) so both Williams' (heck, he's young) and Okwo's longer-term value is still solid. Randall
I knew that he wasn't stupid enough to throw away a guaranteed $7 million+. $425,000 a game while his buddies were playing? That would be pretty dumb.

gilthorp
With the bad rap that Rosenhaus gets around the league, he is really coming into his own IMO. He put McGahee in a much better situation, he got his 1st rounder to sign with the Bears as I believe the first 1st rounder to sign....and now this. Briggs is the best overall LB on the Bears in terms of technique, taking the right angles, not being out of position 99% of the time. Besides that, he's been the spirit on this D for the last 2 years, keeping his teamates loose during practice, and never really missing any significant time. There is no money for him beyond this year. The next Bears defensive player to get the cash will by T Harris, and that will happen sometime during the next off season. Goopster24
Everything is good in Chicago once again! (well....at least on the defensive side) I still want to see Tommie Harris back in action and I pray that he is his former self. THEN I will be happy.
