HowboutthemCowboys
Cowboys assistant trainer Britt Brown said Ellis had a good day of running 50-yarders on Saturday and that they will just have to be patient with the bursitis, which very well could have occurred in his right heal. But Brown was adamant in saying there was nothing wrong with Ellis' Achilles. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Ellis' mindset, still unhappy the Cowboys won't adjust his contract or possibly release him so he could join another team, at least affording him the possibility of signing a new contract with a signing bonus. Ellis is scheduled to make $2.5 million in base salary this year after being paid that $4.2 million signing bonus in 2003. For the umpteenth time Ellis was asked if he's had a conversation with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and for the umpteenth time Ellis said, "No. I think it needs to be talked about now. I think it's to the point where we need to get on the same page about the situation." Ellis was then asked if he is losing his desire to play, entering his 10th NFL season. "That's something that's going to need to be talked about next week," Ellis said, starting a series of cryptic answers to a barrage of questions on the subject. "That's pretty much all I can say on that. When we're here for a little more time, I can probably answer that question a little more honestly next week. "That sounds crazy, don't it? But, that's pretty much all I can say about that. I'll answer fully next week." When posed with the possibility of retiring, Ellis then said, "I don't know. Later next week, I think we'll have more answers," but later said, "Yeah, I still want to play football." Cowboys officials aren't sure what Ellis is talking about, and say there is no meeting or any sort of compromise on the horizon.
HowboutthemCowboys
During 7-on-7 drills, wide receiver Terry Glenn was overheard telling head trainer Jim Maurer he felt something in his right knee pop. Glenn walked off the field with Maurer and didn't return during the workout. Head coach Wade Phillips said during his post-practice press conference he didn't think Glenn suffered anything serious or would miss a significant amount of practice but, but that his status would be updated Monday. Glenn previous injured that same knee in 2002 with the Packers, hyper-extending it in training camp.
BS Miscreant
The Glenn thing could be bad but it really could be nothing. Having had knee issues myself, I can tell you that on several occasions I've felt a pop and sometimes it hurts like hell but it goes away. Sometimes with a bit of swelling and sometimes not. Don't panic.

SAN ANTONIO - The knee irritation keeping wide receiver Terry Glenn out of practice for the past two days is leading to arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after the team's lone practice on Tuesday. Glenn has a tiny cyst on the back of his kneecap, and evidently that is why he pulled up lame in practice on Sunday here at the Alamodome, stepping out of the team's lone drill that day. Jones said Glenn was headed back to Dallas to undergo the surgery on Tuesday, and that the doctors decided scoping the knee immediately would be better than taking a wait-and-see approach. "We thought we might not need to do it, but decided to go ahead and (have the scope) because we don't want to wait to do it later and possibly cause him to miss part of the season," said Jones, knowing the team's opener is scheduled for Sept. 9 against the New York Giants, some 5½ weeks away. Jones called the scope a "light scope," and said going through with the arthroscopic procedure will be the only way to definitely determine if indeed it's the cyst grabbing on the back of Glenn's knee. The owner went on to say a "quick" return is anticipated for the 12th-year receiver, and that there is a good chance he will be back in two weeks but almost assuredly by the start of the season
Rovers
Not saying it's the same thing, but I had a cyst removed from the side of my knee when I was in freakin eigth grade.... and it was fubar for almost a year. Glenn won't be on my cheatsheets this year. PS: Yes, medical technology has come a long way since 1647AD, but still......
