What would you all do in terms of drafitng.

I have been in only 1 other season with IDPs but I didnt rank my players (Yahoo default, and I got some good players, but the top Dawg IDPs were all taken)

I know the RB rule, but with this scoring a top tier QB, and some good IDPs should make for a good squad. any suggestions as to how I may consider setting up my rankings?

thanks in advance if you can help.

that is pretty similar to the scoring that was used for the IDP MOCK...the only real exception is that your SACKS are worth 5pts(ours 3pts)...in reality that will move up guys like Merimann a bit more....otherwise I think our mock is a pretty good tool to use

well in reality, your scoring isn't all that geared for massive points to IDP. Basically, with such a big bonus for 100 yards receiving/rushing you're making up for 5pt sacks and ints. I wouldn't change my tactics too much, I would still be shooting for some regular studs early (RBs first, then a QB early -Brady and Palmer maybe, since Peyton should be gone) and then hit up the IDPs available, grabbing some WRs later on.

Thank you Keggerz yer reply was helpful...unfortuneately;

I went outta town Thursday-Saturday and the hotel had free wi-fi so I think I am good to go.. my girl brings her laptop, I think I am set. wrong. the wi-fi dosent work in our room (even called the tech to try to connect; nuthin) Not thinking it was a big deal, when I get home I go to rank my players and check to see when the draft is, and the draft is already over! (Who drafts this early I am thinking) I missed it by a day, and hadnt ranked my players yet, so I got Yahoo's rankings which is OK if I wasnt in IDP. Needless to say, I get delt some IDP bums and have to get to the waiver fodder. so, while on the wire I found: Dr'e By, Ty Law, T.Hali, Charles.Woodson, Eric Barton, Mideu Williams, and Thomas Howard. Will Demps is still out there but I couldnt decide cus i think the couple of the CBs have some upside being partners to "Shut-Down" corners although they have sum injury history (downside)... hopefully i can get someone to trade with me and I can strengthen my IDPs.

I got some decent WRs and Decent RBs (most are 2nd-3rd-4th Tier guys at their pos) and Palmer and Favre. I am hoping to make a few trades for a good LB or DL...Some others were affected, but then again there are like three teams with STUDS accross the board (IDP) oh well what does one do? they still gotta play and put up numbers..

Thinking about joining another league anyhow besides this one and my 2 local..

One final question though, I always struggle with doing an overall list after the known studs are gone. how do you guys fit "potential" into the list? like how do you place value in the non-necessarily-a-starter? and the good-but-not-great players, rookies..and the like? I realize its a blanket question and that I need to take scoring in mind, but maybe some of you guys can advise anyway.

Thanks for all the replies its been helpful....

for me it depends on the makeup of my team...ie: if i have solid vets as starters I may look for a guy with breakout/bust potential and take a chance on the risk but if i have a couple of guys starting that have some question marks then I try and back them up with solid yet unspectacular vets...in the end there is no blanket answer...the answer is "it depends"
