Man, whats not to love.

His poor completion percentage and poor passing mechanics?

I like him sticking up for his receiver.

As do I. And I don't care if he has to get in somebody's face. Plus, he apologized and it doesn't really seem to be an issue anymore.

He was just protecting his receiver, got pissed about him throwing him down by the neck like that. I would have too, it shows he cares about his team mates or atleast some lol.

+1

They weren't even in full pads.

He could've ended that guys career with a jackass tackle like that in TC.

THE OLD ALBERT IS BACK?

Tom Curran of NBCSports.com reports that Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who supposedly learned his lesson after getting a five-game suspension for treating Andre Gurode's face like a block of gouda last season, was back to his old grumpy self in training camp on Sunday.

Writes Curran: "Things initially got chippy when defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch took running back Len[Wh]ale White off his feet during the touch-but-don't-tackle session. From there, guard Jacob Bell got involved and Haynesworth locked up with him in a scrap that lasted about eight seconds.

"Later, after corner Nick Harper picked off Vince Young, Bell whacked corner Reynaldo Hill during the runback from the blindside, infuriating Haynesworth.

"With the units switching up, Vanden Bosch, Haynesworth and defensive lineman Tony Brown were jawing and walking toward the offensive group prompting head coach Jeff Fisher to tell them to get back with the defense.

"Once there, Young yelled to Haynesworth, 'Come on, we're a team here.'

"An inflamed Haynesworth . . . said something back to Young which caused tight end Bo Scaife to take up for Young (albeit from a distance).

"Haynesworth then said to nobody in particular, 'Be a [expletive] man and step up, bitch.'

After practice, Haynesworth explained himself to Curran:

"That's just how we are here on this defense. The Tennessee Tyrants. That's what we're bringing back. The first few years we were good when I came in and we were the Tennessee Tyrants. We were playing hard, didn't care what anyone thought and that's what we're going to get back to. We can't apologize for going hard."

Hey, that reminds us of Pacman's comment that the Titans need more "thugs," which came after Haynesworth's unprecedented face-scraping of Gurode. We wonder how that all worked out for Pac?

And it makes us wonder whether Haynesworth is now ready to revert to the days of bringing a metal pole to the practice field after someone pisses him off.

Albert surely realizes that he's still on thin ice with the Titans. Or maybe he doesn't. Either way, it should be fun to watch.

Um, passing percentage for a rookie on a team rebuilding? :D The mechanics are well documented, as they are every year for several QB's. Some succeed, some dont. Kind of like QB's with great mechanics. Its the intagibles. It looks like he's got 'em. I dont even like the Titans, and I hate UT, so I'm suprised I am so impressed with him.

I think the mechanics knock is a bit overblown. He gets rid of it very quick which in the NFL is more important imo.

Add that he's 6-5, and his tendency to sidearm in his delivery isn't exactly that big of deal as it would be for a QB that's down around 6 even.

There is a bottom line here. The guy will NEVER be accurate with those mechanics. Whether or not that keeps the Titans from winning is yet to be seen.

what a blanket, asinine statement.

Favre has proven time and time again that while it's nice to have the mechanics, sometimes having a gun off your backfoot or a sidearm "twang" is alot more helptful

Intangibles won't make Vince a long-term NFL starter.

I completely agree that Vick's low completion percentage and poor mechanics don't doom him to failure. But I'm amazed at how people slobber over this guy. You can't get by in the NFL when you only make plays with your feet. I'm getting flashbacks of the Ron Mexico knob-slobbing back in 2002.

As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out on Vince. We won't know for sure for at least another season or two.

Vince just has a way of winning football games.

Now whether he becomes a FF monster is debatable, but he's got a track record as a difference maker. Mechanics or not. And obviously time will tell in the NFL, but again, you can't argue with W's. He did a lot with a little last year. Maybe everyone figures him out for this season, but no one has yet.

Besides, he bailed me out on my McNabb injury team last season. And I saw the Michigan Texas Rose Bowl and he was amazing. And the wife is a Longhorn. Bah...I guess I'm a conflict of interest in this post. :D

Yes, I agree, the jury is still out him, its his second camp! The point is he is already showing leadership skills and the team is already ralying around him. It takes some guys years to do this, and others never do. And when I was saying Vince's mechanics arent as important as his intagibles I wasnt really referring to Vick as much as I was guys like Couch, Leaf, and the host of other guys whose mechanics look great but cant lead a team or win in the NFL. Who know's if Young will or not. But I highly doubt his delivery will be the reason he succeeds or not. And you cannot judge his future by his rookie year completion percentage.

He had the highest QB Rating the NCAA his last year at Texas. His incompletions and interceptions last year can be largely contributed to being a rookie, learning a new offense, and seeing multiple looks on defenses in a game. He will come along. How many other rookies have played in a Pro Bowl?
