PantherDave
Prides himself on staying in shape.....yet this is two TC in a row that the ole Hammy has flared-up. He got some good work in with Romo, caught some nice deep balls.....and presto..the hammy. I call BS and TO has begun his "stay fresh" approach once again. Grits and Shins
Some of the reason TO is being rested is because Terry Glenn is out several weeks ... no reason to have both WRs hurting. A cautious approach is called for. Despite leading the leagues in dropped passes last year TO had a pretty okay year.

Not questioning his year or catching ability( that mangeled finger did not help), just it seems deja-vu is all, this is not a bash TO thread, but TO claimed of tightness....he was not pulled because he was "going to hard in TC". Wow...and y'all call me a homer.
Sgt. Ryan
Am I hearing this right? Is Blitz making excuses for TO being lazy? Wow...and y'all call me a homer. Nope, its basically what Wade said in his afternoon press conference yesterday.

McNasty
It seems like a non-issue to me. No matter what you can say about TO (and there's plenty) he never shows up in anything less than optimal shape, and never gives anything but 100% on the field. At least until he starts getting butthurt that he's not getting enough looks, or the offense starts struggling. Then, he still works hard, but every action becomes: "Hey, look how great I am and how hard I am working, and these other guys still suck." And that hasn't happened... yet. myhousekey
Everything on the radio here in Dallas has pointed to this being more Wade then TO's doing. The first day he sat out practice this week he had been fully dressed and ready to go and Wade told him to take the day off. I'm guessing the hammy is just an excuse they get to use so that all the other players don't start whining about getting a day off as well. No point in risking him with Glenn already ailing. Also, from what I've heard he had been going full throttle in practice and had looked good up to this point. No point in risking it.
HowboutthemCowboys
They did not pull TO....he claimed the Hammy was acting up....forcing the hand of Mother Hen Phillips. But that hard-working mentality actually kept Owens off the practice field here Tuesday, when the coaching staff decided to give the 33-year-old receiver a day off. Owens runs so hard in practice, taking his reps and those of other receivers, that after nine practices in six days his legs were simply tired. "Guys with some experience in the league, you make sure you watch them so they don't get injuries," Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said. "He's worked awfully hard and done everything we wanted and more. You don't want them to run themselves in the ground - especially a guy that's 30-plus." With Owens, everyone always assumes the worst, of course, so when the 11-year veteran set his pads and helmet on the sideline before the training camp practice began in the Alamodome, many onlookers were quick to deem the break a "refusal to practice" or "veteran injury". Phillips dispelled those theories. "He's not complaining about anything, but there's some soreness - and why not keep him out," Phillips said. "It's the same with Aaron Glenn or Flo (Adams) or any of those guys. If there's something I get from the trainer that says we better watch them, then just leave them out and we'll get them the next day." During parts of Tuesday's practice, Owens worked with the team's young receivers, offering some veteran savvy. Phillips said he would "probably" practice Wednesday morning. Who knows PD? Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. I read everything I can find coming out of Dallas and have heard nothing but good things this offseason from, and about T.O. It was not intented to be a "bash TO" thread-just thought it was...perfect timing, and that's all I mean from all this and I can't say I'd blame a savvy vet who knows what he can do on Sunday.....hell, Fox had to sit Smitty the other day because he was just going all out( and was unstoppable from what I've gleaned). Jackass
OK-One man's opinion....I think he's faking it. of course he is. but lots of vets like to do their own thing and don't necessarily need to put their bodies through the training camp regiment. Randall
IAugust 2, 2007, 16:24 Cowboys :: WR Cowboys WR Owens Returns To Practice ESPN - Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens returned to practice on Thursday afternoon for their only workout of the day. Owens sat out both workouts Wednesday, a day after HC Wade Phillips had him rest a sore hamstring. Phillips said Wednesday that Owens wasn't injured. The meaning, since you quite obviously missed it was-OK, I can buy the Wade making the call etc., because Fox did the same thing....easy on the trigger their fella. TDFFFreak
If I were a Cowboy fan, the WR situation would scare me a whole heck of a lot. If they stay healthy (assuming Romo does as well), things are looking good, but there just seems to be so much riding on TO staying well the entire season.
