rajncajn
As everyone knows in all of my previous posts I downed Henderson a bit for his laziness & stone hands at times. I'd said that David Patten would be the likely starter opposite Colston and that Henderson would continue his role as the #3 WR and be the deep option that would mainly be utilized to draw the coverage deep. Well, I will be the first to admit after seeing tonights game & rewatching it again I think I was wrong. Henderson played some big-time ball tonight. If he continues I think he will not only cement that spot, but he could actually give Colston a run for his money yardage-wise. Don't get me wrong, Colston will still be the #1 but I'm guessing their yardage could be very close to each other. Colston though certainly still should get the bulk of the work around the end zone. As for that #3 spot...man that Lance Moore dude can catch and my camp favorite, David Patten is still hobbled on the sideline.

darin3
Not sure if you're hearing this as well, rajn (and other Saint homers), but the homer grapevine I'm listening to says that the Saints' offense is really going to miss Joe Horn; not his productivity per se', but most definitely his veteran leadership. I think his leadership will be missed to a point but Brees is the leader of the offense and will have everyone on the same page come opening day! Actually I haven't heard that at all. I do know he did a lot to provide help to his fellow WRs and of course he was well-loved by most if not all the players, but like TBimm said Drew is the leader of this team & he does a much better job of it than anyone I've ever seen. Joe may have been a good friend to the other players, but his loss should not affect them at all.

SLAYER
I'll throw my homer in here. Brees is definately the leader of this team. WR wise i'm thinking that Henderson wins #2 and Copper #3. I'm not sold on Patton yet, I'm he will be used as a Horn leadership role and experience for the other WR, may get the #3 but his injuries may prevent this. Moore will be the return guy but if he continues catching like he did last night he will be in the mix for #3. Meacham will be like a redshirt in college unless he comes on strong in the remaining camp. Stecker may have seen his last days as a Saint with the way Pittman looked and what they gave up to get him. Defense- David struggling to learn man to man and the rookies are rookies. may be in for another year of teams passing like crazy on us. Hope our fast break offense can outscore most teams. I'm picking Copper as the sleeper of the Saints this year, considering where he will be drafyed in most leagues.

All joking aside the kid looked pretty good last night. Love watching Lance Moore. Just wish he'd stop running backwards on punt returns. Cordo
Devery looked very good with Brees throwing the ball, hopefully he'll be ready for the Indy game (see below). Copper and Moore both had nice games as well, with Palko at QB. ...Payton revealed after the game that Henderson strained a hamstring, but said he wasn’t sure of exactly how long he thought Henderson may be out of action... http://www.neworleanssaints.com/Articles/2...me%20Story.aspx INJURY REPORT: Saints receiver Devery Henderson, who had a terrific first half, left the game with a left hamstring injury after leaping for a potential touchdown grab in the second quarter. Henderson said he didn't think it was a severe injury. ... http://www.nola.com/sports/t-p/index.ssf?/....xml&coll=
Hitman
I think Henderson has the speed and talent, but as the year goes on, I actually think Copper will end up as the 2nd best WR production wise. I think Henderson will again have some big weeks with long TD hook ups w/ Brees...but the inconsistency and lack of catches will hurt him another year IMO. He's going to have to become a more complete WR to really boost his game, or he'll just stay in the mold of a speed-burner type of guy that stretches the field to open things up for other players in the offense. NavinRJohnson
So, Five Saints WRs are draft worthy this year? Colston, Henderson, Cooper, Patten and Moore? I think Moore has to show some Colston-like 2006 camp flashes (and a rajn endorsement) to be draft worthy.

Where's Meacham in all this? He was their #1 pick. Too far behind. He should improve during the season, but as well as the other WRs are playing right now he's only going to get spot time. The Irish Doggy
I was shocked this offseason to see Henderson ended up with 750/5 last year. Some hugh games in the second half...
