But as a heads up, maybe it's just here in Phoenix, but the Reebok outlet store did not have any NFL gear. Just shoes and Reebok brand generic type stuff. Spam would imply that he has some type of financial incentive wrapped up in it. Unless somehow the coupon is tied back to him, I don't see that. My take is the code that worked on the on-line shop last year might have been a hidden sale, and getting that code that was great. These last 2 are on the public Reebok site, and can be accessed by anyone ----> and look at the right nav. That code is definitely tied back to him, and I'm sure he makes a commission of some sort. Otherwise why would he go to 6 football sites that he never posts at to share this with everyone? Its cool either, ill....I'm sure most here appreciate that you made them aware of a way to get 40% off Reebok stuff...but to do it under the guise of "an insider deal from an employee" was not necessary. The Huddle community is pretty cool...if you would have posted something like this, I am sure it would have been met with equal enthusiasm to help you out: "Hey guys, I work at Reebok, and we are running a contest to see who can bring in the most business. If you need anything for back to school, NFL season, or whatever, and like Reebok or Rockposrt stuff, use this coupon. You get 40% off, I might get a day off, and we all win. Thanks in advance!!" Part of the reason The Huddle is informative is that I get made aware of lots of things, both in the Tailgate and here. Someone was hawking home-made FF gear last year....great stuff. Other great sale items are always posted now and then...I think its great to be more informed of what deals are out there...at the end of the day, someone always benefits, so no biggie. I am sure your GM felt it was a solid marketing ploy to let consumers know they are getting "the old employee discount"....makes everyone feel they are getting a deal the average consumer can't. But the danger is when the consumer finds out that the deal is not "an insider special"...rather, one they can get by logging onto the Reebok website, where the exact same offer is prominantly displayed. At this point, there are more negative feelings generated than positive, as the consumer feels they were the target of a ploy/scam. I like that you post the discount here, and applaud you for letting the Huddle community know of a discount available on athletic gear. I rarely go to the Reebok website, so I would never have been aware of it, had it not been for your post. And I'd have been mor than happy to use the promo code linked to you, so you could get credit for it...just be upfront with it next time!
