If true, the guys should never play another down of NFL football again....barred for life, period.

Falcons' Vick accused of executing dogs

By LARRY O'DELL, Associated Press Writer

RICHMOND, Va. - Two of Michael Vick's alleged cohorts in a grisly dogfighting case pleaded guilty Friday, and one said the Atlanta Falcons quarterback joined them in drowning and hanging dogs that underperformed.

A statement signed by Phillips as part of his plea agreement said Vick participated in the execution of about eight dogs, some by drowning and hanging.

"Phillips agrees and stipulates that these dogs all died as a result of the collective efforts of Peace, Phillips and Vick," the statement said.

Phillips and Peace also backed Taylor's assertion that Vick was involved in gambling.

"The 'Bad Newz Kennels' operation and gambling monies were almost exclusively funded by Vick," statements by the two men say.

Is there anyone here who thinks Vick isn't arrogant enough to think he can beat this thing if the offer in the plea agreement involves anything more than 1 year in jail and/or Goodell has told him that he'll be out of football for 2 or more years if he's found guilty?

He needs to listen very, very carefully when his lawyers start talking about RICO.

I don't think he's that stupid. I would actually go so far as to say the only thing left to do is negotiating the sentence for the guilty plea.

Problem with a plea is that the judge can basically set the punishment he wants even if the pros and def agree on something. And from what I hear, the judge is a real barn burner when it comes to punishment. I hope he does not plea and gets hammered.

I actually think it would be more fun if he & his lawyers busted their balls working the Feds for a deal for 18 months & then the judge threw the agreement aside & sent him up the river for 4+ years.

I'd love to be in the court room watching his face when he heard the judge speak under those circumstances.

Yup! Based on the face of what I've seen, you have gambling and movement of those funds in a financial institution (a form of Money laundering). There are two right off the top that qualify for RICO charges.

Add to that the Forfeiture provisions and this is going to devistate the scumbag if he wants to try to take it that far!

:D

I thought I heard that his attorneys are split...he has like four? Two were for plea...and two were for fight....WHATEVER. Dude better plead quick while the charges do not include RICO charges.

I agree with you. I would have to think 2 years (and the end of his pro football career) give or take would be appropriate punishment for him. I can't see 25 years being just punishment - as heinous as the crimes described are.

Good. If this stuff is true, this animal deserves everything he has coming to him. And may his roommate be a well hung angry individual with HIV.

You forget to add "member of the Aryan Nation"

:D Not likely... everyone knows that skinhead nazis are so filled with hate because of their... lack of talent below the waist.

BigTen is absolutely right. Vick is totally screwed. If he doesn't cop a plea, he will do 5+. Rico is difficult to prosecute. With witnesses already testifying that Vick was the bank in this scheme, the federal prosecutors have an excellent case. If any of that money made it's way to any type of financial institution, he will be found guilty. A guilty verdict from a RICO case will involve significant forfeiture of Miss Vicki's assets as well. They haven't even talked about any potential federal tax evasion charges or Viginia state animal cruelty charges.

Oh I don't know, I think he's pretty stupid. Possibly stupid enough to think he could hire some high-priced lawyers and beat all the charges "just like O.J. did". He's shown a LOT of poor judgement lately. I was convinced he would cop a plea today, now nothing would surprise me.
