I just noticed the score on the Yahoo box scores and wondered how the Vikes offense could possibly have got into the opposition half twice in one quarter. Evidently they didn't. Minnesota was the best or 2nd best rush D a yr ago. They obviously looked stout again tonight. Gros Membres! Posted August 18, 2007 Share Posted August 18, 2007 I thought Washington looked solid in limited action, even after Pennington's two INTs. Wahington and TJ will be an effective but unspectacular duo. I cannot see Jones achieving anything more than a low end #2RB and the OL, if hit with any injuries, could be a disaster. Pete Kendall looked terrible at center. I've heard talk that he may be the starting left guard but his head seems to be somewhere else. Chadman Posted August 20, 2007 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Admittedly haven't watched too much football yet this season, but was very impressed with Greenway and the seemingly improved pass rush from what I saw. Two concerns: Griffin looked awful IMO trying to defend the Jet receivers which surprised me (giving too much room to Pennington to work with) and the kickoff return unit and Allison in particular did not look good. Allison looked like he was thinking and looking for room instead of going hard and making progress. Maybe a little nitpicky, but it stood out to me. Heckuva nice field goal to end the half, getting the unit on the field and a great kick by Longwell. Field goals could be very important this season for this offense.
