Wow. Really? It's neck and neck. Opening day is the day I look forward to for 364.25 days a year! Draft day is fun and all, very exciting to choose what players I'm going to be spending my next 4 months following, and in some cases my next few years. But draft day is just another step leading up to the holiest of holies, the day when the picks you made are actually given meaning. Opening day signals the beginning of the end for anything getting done on Sundays. Opening day turns Sunday from just another ho-hum day, a day spent at least in some way thinking about work on Monday, into the day you look forward to every week, into THEE day of the week. The rest of them cease to matter. Draft day holds no power like that. Without draft day, opening day forges on, wielding as much power as it ever has. Without opening day though, draft day cannot survive. It is but a tick on the side of opening day, stealing what it needs to maintain its wonderful, yet completely dependent existence.

21 days, 23 hours, 2 minutes, and 27 seconds until the first NY game of the year. Are you ready for some motherf*cking football? Long live opening day! :D

Having more leagues and slow drafting does take some of the fun out of draft day, but that said it's still a blast. Gone are the days where I have a local, live draft (where everyone is in one place) and we make a big deal about it. So that's sapped a bit of the fun.

The start of NFL season edges out draft day because I still gather with my Eagles' fans here in LA and root the boys in green on.

Both are near the top of my list of favorite things to do.

Agreed my local has a live draft and I think that's what makes it.

How can this be a debate?? Fantasy football is supposed to solely enhance the watching of the NFL on tv. How could it ever get bigger than the game itself?? Those people take things just a wee bit too seriously.

Tough call, but I voted Draft Day only if the draft is a live get together. I always called draft day Christmas Day. I have 2 local live drafts this season so 2 Christmas Days. Opening day is awesome also, especially to those who have season tix to their favorite teams. I used to have season tix for my second favorite team.
