Wed34pol99
Had this post in FF Advice - probably wrong spot... Can someone give me the lowdown on him? i see him going late in the first round/early second in a lot of mock drafts. People picking him above some 'healthy' guys. Is his knee bad or what? My impression the guy is running on bone on bone knees and him grabbing pine due to injury is a matter of when not if. If I am wrong someone please let me know...if he is healthy i'd snatch him up on my wrap around at 2.5 if he lasts but not at 1.9... thanks!!! Bronco Billy
Could you please provide a link to the injury news that you are putting forth instead of throwing rumors out & seeing what sticks? There was a rumor last October that Westbrook would require the dreaded microfracture surgery - that ended up being false and his inflammation of his knee turned out to be due to a bone bruise. He had a toe injury that slowed him slightly last December. He had a virus & missed a couple of days of practice at the end of last December. Other than that... rajncajn
Yeah, first I heard anything about his knees being bone-on-bone.
Wed34pol99
Yeah, first I heard anything about his knees being bone-on-bone. I apologize but there is no link...this goes back to his knee injury last year and I had read somewhere that his knee was not 100% before camp. If I am wrong and he is all good great...tell me I am in the dark and was hoping for some input from Philly fans on his 'actual' status. DMD
Westbrook comes off a career year by a large margin and while his knee was the subject of much speculation (and a week off) last year, the guy turned it on in the latter half of 2006 with no apparent problems. His best season was 178 carries for 808 yards but last year he ran 240 times for 1217 yards and a 5.1 YPC. There is no way they want to use him that heavily this year (hence the drafting of Tony Hunt for example) but nothing in last year says there is a problem entering this year. Azazello1313
"bone-on-bone" is what happens when blitz and bronco billy leave this shindig.
Bronco Billy
Oh, and saying that you wouldn't take him at 1.09 but you'd consider him at 2.05 draws the obligatory, "I wish I were in your league."

Avernus
In PPR, I have Westy around 6th or 7th... LT SJax Addai Gore LJ Westy Parker Bush Henry Maroney Edited August 20, 2007 by Avernus
The Wolf
do you think he is still a first rounder? lets say ahead of ...Rudi R.Brown S.Alexander W.Parker ? thanks. Is this a PPR league? He is definitely agead if Rudi Johnson and Ronnie Brown. You could make a case for SA at 5...prolly not FWP. Westy is a 5-6 depending on if this is a PPR (he's 5) or not (he's 6) with SA ahead of him.
irish
I just read somewhere yesterday that the knee injury albeit present shouldn't be a problem this season. Sure he may miss 1 or 2 games or parts of them but he's still worth the risk. Edited August 20, 2007 by irish
keggerz
yesterday when i saw westy at the eagles carnival I asked him how his knees were and how he felt and his reply was "everything is great" then security said the exit is over there(i was getting his autograph)

cre8tiff
Drafted him at 1.09 in HOT(.5 PPR) and couldn't be happier. Yup, I'm beginning to doubt my decision to pick Ronnie Brown over him in GvE. He drove me nuts last year with the will he or won't he play?
