Randall
August 21, 2007, 11:05 Vikings :: WR WR Ferguson To Sign With Vikings Kevin Brown, VikingUpdate.com - According to his agent, former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Robert Ferguson will sign with the Minnesota Vikings and hopes to be on the field for practice as early as today. "Barring any injuries getting out of his car with the contract, Robert will sign with Minnesota," said Brian Overstreet, Ferguson's agent, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports in Houston. "(Ferguson) just felt his best opportunity to get on the field immediately is better in Minnesota," Overstreet said. "We are getting ready to get on a plane and try to get a deal done in Minnesota in time so Robert can practice today with the Vikings." The Houston Texans also had shown an interest in Ferguson this past weekend.
Bronco Billy
And the sad part - he'll be a very real threat to be a starter by week 1.

T-Scorp
So does he have any value? He will easily be in the WR mix with Wade, Williamson and Rice... Why was he cut by the Packers in the first place??

Why was he cut by the Packers in the first place?? Too many injuries and didn't really show signs of improvement as a player with rookies flying past him on the depth chart. alexgaddis
meh. +1...nothing real news worthy here...he'll compete and play some games and get injured on and off and not really show much besides a few flashes here and there...
SeductiveNun
He, like Todd Pinkston before him, will save this WR corps.

He was a better special teams player in the end. Think Koren Robinson without the sirens.
Chadman
(Ferguson) just felt his best opportunity to get on the field immediately is better in Minnesota," Overstreet said. With insight and intelligence like that, he should be able to quickly grasp the playbook in Chilly's "Kick-Ass" Offense...

LaFuerza
Another example of the Vikes lapping up our scraps through the sewer grate. : Longwell and Sharper are scraps???
Savage Beatings
Longwell and Sharper still have a lot of game left in them, no doubt. And maybe Ferguson will pan out, but there's something more than a little unsettling about knowing that this guy, who is now the best option the Vikings have at WR, was not good enough to even make the roster of Receivers in Green Bay. Mystykoekaki
I sometimes think MN is looking at this in the wrong way, instead of focusing on the WRs....try to get the TE into the passing attack.

budlitebrad
The guy is nothing but filler material. Well then he should fit right in with the rest of the WR corps.
