1stand10
Not that it matters but here it is. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...604&id=2107 "Michael Vick has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL. Vick formally plead guilty earlier in the day, confirming that he had not only committed a crime, but lied to the league office about it. An official announcement on the suspension is expected tonight." Edited August 24, 2007 by 1stand10
DMD
He has been suspended indefinitely without pay. So the NFL can decide whenever they want or they can decide to not decide.

1stand10
Personally I think He is done. After the federal stuff then He has to deal with the state charges. Then after that if a team even shows remote interest in him PETA will be all over that team. I think He is done.

Bronco Billy
He'll be reinstated in 2 yrs... Don't bet on it. The NFL offices emphasized the gambling angle - and they've suspended better players than Vick for life for gambling while being active players. The NFL offices emphasized the gambling angle - and they've suspended better players than Vick for life for gambling while being active players. Excerpts from Goodell's letter to Vick have been posted on NFL.com. He sounds incredibly pissed and it sounds like he's not going to get in the way if the Falcons go after a pro-rated portion of his signing bonus. Big Score 1
Vick suspended indefinitelyNational Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell notified Michael Vick on Friday that he is suspended indefinitely without pay from the National Football League, effective immediately. Following are excerpts from Commissioner Goodell’s letter to Vick: » "Your admitted conduct was not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible. Your team, the NFL, and NFL fans have all been hurt by your actions." » "Your plea agreement and the plea agreements of your co-defendants also demonstrate your significant involvement in illegal gambling. Even if you personally did not place bets, as you contend, your actions in funding the betting and your association with illegal gambling both violate the terms of your NFL Player Contract and expose you to corrupting influences in derogation of one of the most fundamental responsibilities of an NFL player." » "You have engaged in conduct detrimental to the welfare of the NFL and have violated the league’s Personal Conduct Policy." » "I will review the status of your suspension following the conclusion of the legal proceedings. As part of that review, I will take into account a number of factors, including the resolution of any other charges that may be brought against you, whether in Surry County, Virginia, or other jurisdictions, your conduct going forward, the specifics of the sentence imposed by Judge Hudson and any related findings he might make, and the extent to which you are truthful and cooperative with law enforcement and league staff who are investigating these matters." » "I have advised the Falcons that, with my decision today, they are no longer prohibited from acting and are now free to assert any claims or remedies available to them under the Collective Bargaining Agreement or your NFL Edited August 24, 2007 by Big Score

Bronco Billy
hornung and karras bet on NFL games. That's true - but again, the emphasis from the Commish's office was to the gambling aspect. Hornung & Karris didn't kill any dogs in the process of their gambling either, nor did they headman the gambling effort that they were a part of like Vick did - much less the dogfighting point. Let's also not forget that the state isn't done with Vick yet...
SheikYerbuti
If I had to bet, I'd say the next football field he plays on is either Arena or Canada, with Canada being the favorite. I think it's better than even money that he doesn't play again in the NFL.

Big Score 1
“Today, Michael Vick admitted his guilt to very serious charges related to his earlier indictment. His admissions describe actions that are incomprehensible and unacceptable for a member of the National Football League and the Atlanta Falcons.” “We respect and support the Commissioner’s decision today to place Michael Vick on an indefinite suspension. As with other actions he has taken this year, the Commissioner is making a strong statement that conduct which tarnishes the good reputation of the NFL will not be tolerated.” “We hope that Michael will use this time, not only to further address his legal matters, but to take positive steps to improve his personal life.” The Falcons expect further comment on Monday. www.atlantafalcons.com

I think it's better than even money that he doesn't play again in the NFL. The CFL would be well-suited for his scrambling skills, but they might not take him. I don't think that Vick would do well in the Arena League, where the field is tiny and you're basically forced to throw the ball.
