Deacon
We've always had a noon on Sunday (Thursday / Saturday when there are games) deadline. But I'm considering a "game time" deadline. Since our web site locks in (or out) players as soon as their game starts, somebody can't post-enter a starter anyway. This way, if you had two running backs playing on Monday night, and the one you'd really like to start is one of those nasty "game time decisions," you could wait until just before game time to make the call. Does anybody do this? Are there pitfalls I'm not seeing?
piratesownninjas
I like the sunday deadline. I think its fun to watch owners squirm when trying to make a decision on who to start.
Turf Smurf
5 minutes before the game starts....for each player. Edit: All squirming aside, we prefer to make the home league as competetive as possible, any way possible. Grits and Shins
We used to have the noon Sunday deadline but now it is a game time dead line; i.e. you can switch players in your lineup all the way until the kick off of the MNF game as long as neither player has already started their game. So if you have a player on MNF that is a game time decision you have a bit more latitude. We used to also freeze transactions at Saturday noon ... but now allow transactions all the way through the kick off of the MNF game as long as you are not dropping a player that has already played and are not picking up a player that has already played. Roller Coasters
It makes absolutely no sense to stick to the antiquated rule on a Sunday noon or 1:00 deadline. Since every league now uses a web hosting program that can lock players after their games start, this has to be the rule. Otherwise you penalize the teams with players starting late or on Monday night. I would much rather have a level playing field for everyone. The Vatican Hitsquad
Kickoff, and only in emergency can they turn in the lineup via phone or other non-electronic format.
Deacon
It makes absolutely no sense to stick to the antiquated rule on a Sunday noon or 1:00 deadline ... Thanks for the input ... I agree that this is "antiquated." It's a leftover from the days before everyone had internet connection and the league was hosted online (league started in 1998). I think we'll change this year.
