Feartheturtle
Assuming Chester Taylor starts the season as the #1 RB, have you heard if the Vikings plan to use Peterson on kickoff or punt returns? I know they didn't draft him to be a special teams player, but was wondering if they would use his talents there for now. Thanks for your insight! piratesownninjas
Not a homer, but no way in hell does he return kicks or punts. I also see AD getting 250+ touches this year. Peterson is a special player. Too special to have him sitting behind Taylor.
Outshined
Mewelde Moore will most likely field punts. The KO returner has not been decided. It will not be Adrian Peterson.
Feartheturtle
Didn't think so. Thanks guys!
The Vatican Hitsquad
isnt he outperforming Taylor in pre-season? I would think he had a good shot at the #1 slot
GWPFFL BrianW
They will both get there fair share, up here in minny, but Peterson has outshined him in preseason, and will (pending health) outperform him during the regular season. Vikings have to run the ball a lot. They got probably the worst corp of receivers in the nfl, so both Taylor and Peterson won't be hurting for carries. MikesVikes
The Vikes are trying out 155 different players for special teams and not one of them is named Adrian. Correction: give or take 150. Edited August 25, 2007 by MikesVikes
Chadman
Seems like Aundre Allison is the kickoff return guy - has not impressed yet, and is too undecided to be consistently effective in that role. I agree, no way Peterson is a return guy - not for what they are paying him - and the injury risk. I think they will keep both he and Taylor sharing time, both look good so far, which is both productive and safe. Bobby Wade looked very good last night. Looks like the #1 option for T-Jax, they seem to have some chemistry.
Lonestar39
The Purple will be a very run oriented team so to see both of these guys sharing the load will not be surprising, but most likely it will be Taylor getting a few more carries at the start of the season with Adrian taking over after he gets a few games in. Peterson will not play special teams During training camp there were several local reports of TJ and Wade staying after practice and throwing balls - I agree that there is a chemistry, not sure what it means but I am willing to pick Wade in the 14th of 18 round draft as I write this Aundre Allison was reported to have only dropped one pass in training camp - crazy skills but a questionable background dropped him in the draft - founded or not I have not heard -- But I like him --- no source -- primarily reports I have heard was on KFAN but I have heard this several times ------- Allison is slated for special teams right now but he will be someome to watch in 2008 closely IMHO
